Hello,
This meditation is really there to help center and ground yourself.
It's a simple breathing meditation and all it requires you to do is to close your eyes,
Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Listen to the sounds in the background.
What can you hear?
Birds,
Voices.
The cracking of the wood expanding in the morning heat,
A tractor in the distance,
Birds.
Just take a deep breath in and exhale.
Use these sounds to imagine yourself in this place.
Let the sounds conjure up the place you're sitting,
Your surroundings.
What do you imagine this to be?
Where do you imagine it to be?
What can you smell?
What can you see in front of you?
Visualize all the sights,
Sounds and sensations of wherever you are.
Let the sounds take you to a calm and gentle place.
How are you feeling right now?
Just breathe.
Allow yourself to just be.
Allow yourself to relax.
Let your week,
Your day,
Your morning,
Your afternoon,
Your evening just float away.
What do those trees look like that you can hear blowing in the wind?
Now,
Bring your attention to your breath.
Focus on the sensation of the air moving in and out of your body.
Just allow the place and space to help you let go of any thoughts or distractions and simply be present with your breath in this space.
As you inhale,
Repeat the phrase,
I am present.
And as you exhale,
Repeat,
I am calm.
I am present on the inhale.
I am calm on the exhale.
I am present.
Continue this process for several minutes and allow yourself to relax and settle into the present moment.
I am present.
I am calm.
I am present.
I am calm.
I am present.
Remember,
The goal of meditation isn't to stop your thoughts completely,
But to learn to observe them without judgment and to stay present.
As you do this,
If your mind begins to wander,
Gently bring your attention back to your breath and the phrases,
I am present and I am calm.
I am present and I am calm.
Take a few more deep breaths and when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Take a moment to notice how you feel before getting up and going about your day.
Hope this helps.
