Welcome to this EFT tapping session for uncertainty.
This one is for the background hum or worry so many of us carry,
Whether that's about money,
Work,
The state of the world and that sense of not knowing what's coming next.
It can feel so unsettling.
We're not going to force positivity,
We don't do that here.
We're just going to help your body come out of that kind of braced on alert state and hopefully find a little more calm steadiness underneath it.
Okay,
So let's get started.
Make yourself nice and comfortable.
Roll your shoulders.
Let your tummy soften.
And let's take a grounding breath together to start.
Breathing in through the nose.
And then slowly out through the mouth.
In your own time,
In your own way.
And then tapping on the side of the hand,
Repeat after me either in your mind or out loud.
Even though there's so much I can't predict right now.
And my mind keeps searching for certainty.
I'm meeting myself here with kindness.
Even though my body has been bracing for what might happen.
Holding on tight,
Staying alert.
I honour how hard it's been working to protect me.
Even though I don't know how things will unfold.
I'm open to feeling a little steadier anyway.
And I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Tapping on the eyebrow point lets acknowledge the uncertainty.
Repeating after me all this uncertainty i'm carrying Side of the eye.
There are so many unknowns right now.
Under the eye,
The news,
The costs,
The changes.
And as we tap here under the eye you might like to bring your specific uncertainty to mind.
Feel free to say it out loud.
Under the nose.
My mind keeps asking,
What if this happens?
What if that happens?
So many what ifs.
Chin points.
Trying to figure out every possible outcome.
Collarbone points.
As if worrying harder keeps me more prepared.
Under the arm.
I'm so tired of holding all this.
Top of the head.
No wonder I feel unsettled.
Back to the eyebrow points.
I can feel the uncertainty in my body.
And as we tap here,
You might like to just think about where you're feeling this in your body,
This uncertainty.
Side of the eye,
This subtle tension like my body is always on standby.
Under the eye,
Shoulders up,
Jaw tight,
Breath shallow.
So just noticing again where you're holding it.
There's no need to change or judge anything.
Under the nose.
Part of me is always scanning for the next problem.
Chin points.
Checking the news.
Checking the bank accounts.
Checking and rechecking.
And as you tap here gently notice your own version of this.
What do you find yourself checking or keeping an eye on when things feel uncertain?
Collarbone points.
Maybe it makes sense that I do this.
Under the arm.
Maybe my body learned that staying alert feels safer.
Top of the head.
So perhaps it's just been doing its best for me.
Okay,
So for this next round,
We're going to tune in a little.
You don't need to say anything out loud.
I'll guide you to tap through the points.
So just listen and let the words land wherever they need to.
If it feels safe and comfortable to do so,
Close your eyes or just have a nice soft gaze.
Tapping on the eyebrow points.
Recognising that when our bodies are in this state of alertness it can feel like there's something wrong with us,
Like we're broken or overreacting but your body isn't doing anything wrong.
This alertness or bracing is a very old and very loyal response which has been hardwired into all of us over thousands of years.
It's the same protective instinct that kept our ancestors safe,
Still doing its job nowadays but in a very different world.
Side of the eye.
It's that part of you that wants to keep you prepared and keep you protected.
If you think about it,
Your nervous system's whole job is to look out for you.
And when the future feels unpredictable,
It turns the volume right up because it needs to make sure that you're fully aware of the perceived threats.
And that can feel like a flaw sometimes like you might think you should be able to cope better or that other people seem more able to cope than you but it's not a flaw That's your body caring about you the only way it knows how.
Under the eye.
And maybe that part has been working overtime lately because here's the thing about our minds,
They can't always tell the difference between a real problem happening right now and an imagined one that might never actually arrive.
So your body responds to the worry as if it were the event itself.
Under the nose.
So as you tap here you might silently thank your mind and body Thank you for trying so hard to keep me ready.
Thank you for trying so hard to find solutions.
Thank you for looking at every single tiny aspect of this.
Thank you for bracing and being alert enough to act quickly.
And it might seem strange to thank the very thing that's exhausting you,
But when we meet these protective parts with appreciation instead of frustration,
They tend to soften.
What we resist tends to persist and what we acknowledge can begin to relax.
Moving to the chin points.
And you might like to let your body and mind know that it doesn't have to hold everything on its own.
It's been standing guard for so long,
Scanning and monitoring and bracing,
That it may have forgotten that there's an adult here now.
And that's you my love,
You are amazing,
You are capable,
Resourceful and able to respond to things as they actually happen.
And yes,
You might still like to plan.
That's allowed.
Preparing is allowed.
You know,
There's a difference between taking care of what's real and carrying the weight of everything that might happen.
Today we're only setting down those might happens.
Tapping on the collarbone points.
So you're allowed to set some of this down even if it's just for the length of this session.
Your protective part can pick it back up again afterwards if it needs to Sometimes just knowing that we're allowed to rest with permission to set things aside is what lets the body finally exhale So an invitation here if it feels okay to set aside what feels appropriate in this moment Might you be able to set aside some fears and worries just for now?
Not pushing them away or suppressing or forcing or hiding.
Just saying,
I see you,
I hear you.
But this isn't happening now,
So I choose to set this aside just for a short while.
Setting aside the maybes,
The what-ifs.
Under the arm.
So take a moment to ground,
Notice your breath,
Slow and steady.
Notice your feet on the floor.
Your seated weights in the chair.
Maybe your shoulders can drop a little.
Allowing the jewel to feel softer.
The chest and heart to feel more open.
Notice that in this exact moment right here right now nothing is being asked of you.
This is how we gently show the nervous system it's okay.
Not by arguing with it,
But by giving it real physical evidence of safety.
Breath by breath,
Tap by tap.
Top of the head.
Maybe this moment is manageable.
And this one.
And this one.
We never have to cope with the whole future at once,
Even though our minds like to try.
We only ever have to meet one moment at a time and you're already doing that right now meeting and managing moments Lovely,
Well done.
So let's go back to regular tapping now,
Repeating after me in your mind or out loud.
Tapping on the eyebrow points.
What if I don't have to figure it all out today?
Side of the eye,
What if not knowing is simply a part of being human?
Under the eye.
Maybe I've faced unknowns before.
Under the nose.
And somehow I found my way through.
Chin points.
I've adapted more times than I give myself credit for.
Collarbone points,
Maybe I can trust that adaptive and capable part of me.
Under the arm.
Trust that part that responds if and when things actually happen.
Top of the head.
What if I can trust that part more and the rehearsing part less?
Back to the eyebrow points.
I can't control the wider world.
Side of the eye,
But I can take care of me and my own little corner of the world.
Under the eye,
I give my nervous system permission to soften.
Under the nose,
Even with questions still unanswered it can soften.
Chin point.
I can meet what comes when it comes.
Collarbone.
And I don't have to hold it every single minute.
Okay,
So keep tapping on the collarbone and we're going to do a short visualisation here.
You can close your eyes if that feels comfortable or soften your gaze towards the floor.
As you tap here on the collarbone,
I'd like you to imagine a beautiful warm golden anchor.
And this anchor is your steadfastness.
Notice its shape,
Its gentle glow,
Feel the warmth coming from it This anchor is solid,
Dependable and it belongs to you.
Now let this golden anchor begin to settle low in your body,
Its warm steady weight coming to rest at the very base of your spine where your body meets the chair or the floor beneath you.
Some people like to feel it there at that solid base,
Others prefer it lower still in the hips,
The legs or even the soles of the feet.
So wherever feels most grounding for you let your anchor settle like an anchor resting on the seabed.
Where in your body feels most grounding to let your anchor settle.
And above the surface,
The weather does what the weather does.
Winds change,
Waves rise and fall,
Forecasts shift.
But the anchor doesn't need to know the forecast.
It simply rests heavy and warm and still,
Holding you steady beneath all that movement.
So let that warmth spread a little with each tap up to your chest,
Your neck and your head.
And then down through your arms,
Your belly and into your legs all the way to your feet on the floor.
So all of you feels connected to your anchor.
The world can feel uncertain and you can still be anchored.
Both things can be true at once.
So stay with that warmth for another breath or two,
Reminding yourself that the anchor is always here for you,
Warm,
Steady,
Dependable.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Have a little stretch of the arms and then back to repeating after me.
Tapping under the arm.
Things can feel calmer.
Even here,
Even now.
Top of the head.
Steadiness lives inside me,
Not in the forecast.
Well done,
Let's do one final round of affirmations to close.
Tapping on the eyebrow points.
I have handled uncertainty and hard things before and I can again.
Side of the eye,
I can hold uncertainty without it holding me.
Under the eye.
My body is learning it can come off duty now and then.
Under the nose I trust myself to respond to what's real and here now Chin point.
I choose presence over prediction.
Collarbone points.
I am anchored warm and steady.
Under the arm,
I honour myself for showing up today.
Top of the head.
Whatever lies ahead I choose to take it one moment at a time.
Okay well done and stop tapping there.
Place a hand on your heart and take a slow breath in through the nose.
And slowly out through the mouth.
Take a moment to notice how you feel,
Just notice any shifts,
Even the small ones Perhaps your shoulders have dropped or your breath has deepened or things simply feel a touch calmer or easier.
Sometimes the clarity we've been searching for arrives the moment we stop searching and simply breathe.
So during stressful or uncertain times,
Remember this feeling.
Give yourself the gift of space again and again.
Your calmer mind will always see more than your worried one.
Have a calm and anchored day.
Take care.
