Welcome,

Dear friend.

This Slim for Life Healthy Lifestyle Guided Meditation will help you transition toward healthier lifestyle habits.

These shifts in how you live your life will enable you to experience sustainable and permanent weight loss and experience more health and vitality.

I encourage you to visualize realistic images.

We do not need to look like cover models for a woman's magazine.

We can express beauty living at a weight that is healthy for our height and frame.

I recommend that you listen to this meditation regularly to reinforce the images you see in your mind so that they begin to align with how you live each day.

Sit or lie down in a quiet,

Comfortable space where you will not be disturbed.

Ensure your spine is stable and lengthened.

Soften and close your eyes and draw your awareness to the easy flow of your natural breath.

As you breathe in,

Feel the air flowing in through your nostrils,

Filling your lungs,

Descending all the way to the belly.

As you breathe out,

Notice the soft release in your belly,

Ribcage,

And chest.

I will take you now on a journey to a deeper state of rest and relaxation by taking you on a walk through your body.

Please listen to my voice and bring awareness to the part of your body that I mention,

Consciously relaxing it without actually moving that part of your body.

By bringing awareness to different parts of your body,

You will activate the flow of prana or energy.

Draw awareness to the front of your body.

Let's start with the right side of your body.

Draw awareness now to your right hand.

Relax all five fingers on your right hand.

Relax your palm,

The back of your hand,

Your wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Right armpit,

Right side of the ribcage and waist,

Hip,

Thigh,

Kneecap,

Shin,

Ankles,

Top of the right foot,

And your five toes.

Now draw awareness to the left side of your body.

Draw awareness now to your left hand.

Relax all five fingers on your left hand.

Relax your palm,

The back of your hand,

Your wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Right armpit,

Right side of the ribcage and waist,

Hip,

Thigh,

Kneecap,

Shin,

Ankles,

Top of the left foot,

And your five toes.

Now draw awareness to the backside of your body.

Start on the right side of your body.

Relax the sole of your right foot.

Heel,

Calf,

Back of the knee,

Hamstrings,

Gluteals.

Now relax the sole of your left foot.

Heel,

Calf,

Back of your knee,

Hamstrings,

Gluteals.

Now relax your lower back,

Your middle back,

Your upper back,

And the back of your shoulders.

Relax the back of your neck,

The back of your head,

The crown of your head.

Feel tension melting away from your forehead,

Your eyebrows,

Your eyes and eyelids,

Cheeks,

Lips,

Tongue,

Jaw.

Let all the muscles of your face soften and relax and let your skin feel very smooth.

Relax the front of your neck,

Your chest,

Abdomen,

Pelvis,

Pelvic floor.

Feel both arms relaxed.

Feel both legs relaxed.

Feel the front of your body and face relaxed.

Feel the back of your body relaxed.

Be aware of your whole body,

Your whole physical body,

Relaxing,

Resting,

Safe and secure and supported by the earth.

Now become aware of the screen in front of your closed eyelids,

That space called Chittikasha.

You may see shapes and colors there now.

You can create any image you want to see on this screen of your mind.

Now open up your imagination and allow yourself to take this journey with me.

Visualize in your mind your goal for how you want to appear.

You have stepped outside of your body and are looking at your future self,

Having achieved your weight loss and fitness goals.

See your ideal physical body now,

The one you created by taking loving care of yourself.

Maybe you have lost weight.

Maybe you are wearing a stylish outfit you recently bought in a smaller size.

Maybe you have a more radiant complexion.

Maybe your upper arms feel tight and toned after weeks of lifting weights or swimming.

Now begin to experience what it feels like to live in this new body.

Do you feel happy?

Do you have more energy and sense of vitality?

Do you feel strong and healthy?

Take a moment to imagine how your life will be different once you change your habits and live a life where you care better for yourself.

Taking good care of your body is one way you can express love for yourself.

Visualize yourself living your goal lifestyle.

You wake up from a restful sleep with a smile on your face.

You got eight hours of sleep and you jump out of bed feeling energetic and alive,

Like you always do lately.

You arise early and start each day with exercise.

Visualize yourself taking a walk in your neighborhood or heading to the gym for a refreshing swim,

A fitness class where they play your favorite music and you connect with friends or a weight workout where you build strong muscles and bones.

Really experience how good the exertion feels and the rush of endorphins you feel after you finish.

What changed your life?

Living differently made all the difference.

You exercise almost every day,

Nourish your body with healthy,

Unprocessed foods,

Drink plenty of water,

Manage your stress with meditation and breath work,

And get eight hours of sleep every night.

You have always been enough,

But now you are finally treating yourself that way by taking the best possible care of yourself.

Now let's let go of negative images that may block your journey to wellness.

The most common one is the frustration of past failures.

Times you tried to exercise or lose weight that worked for a while until you got discouraged and gave up.

Ask yourself now,

Why did you quit?

Did you dislike the form of exercise you chose?

Did you tell yourself you didn't have enough time?

Did your friends or family members say you should just enjoy that ice cream or a couple more drinks until you decided it wasn't worth it to keep trying to eat healthy anymore?

Just let go of these memories and let go of the idea that living a healthy lifestyle means missing out on fun.

What could be better than living a life full of health,

Energy and vitality?

Breathe in the new life you want to live and breathe out all those old toxic memories.

This is your life and you are going to take control of it and live differently from now on.

Exercise should never be punishment for overindulgence at a meal and the intensity and duration should be gradually increased so that your body has time to get used to it.

Exercise can be fun instead of a chore if you an activity you truly enjoy.

You didn't sit in front of the TV for hours when you were a kid.

You wanted to be outside playing,

Right?

No matter what activity you like then,

You can likely do it now.

What activity sounds like the most fun?

Swimming,

Walking,

Jogging,

Kayaking,

Bicycling,

Rollerblading and cross-country skiing are all excellent forms of aerobic exercise.

Some group exercise classes also have a focus on continual movement and can be super fun like Zumba and water aerobics for example.

Visualize yourself doing an activity you enjoy.

Experience the sensation of your body moving,

Of your breathing,

Of the temperature in your environment.

Maybe you feel the wind rushing through your hair when you ride your bike.

Cool water caressing your body and mind while you swim,

Sharpening your mind and soothing away physical discomfort.

Maybe the rhythm of music in a dance class is jolting you into a state of bliss,

Reminding you of days you used to listen to music and dance in your room or danced your heart out at clubs in college.

Notice how you feel afterward.

Maybe you feel a sense of accomplishment,

A rush of happy endorphins,

Mentally focused and calm,

A bit stronger than before.

Now visualize yourself at the grocery store.

You steer your cart to the fruits and vegetables,

The dairy section,

The bread aisle and the meat shelves.

You avoid buying food filled with additives.

In the past,

Food companies tricked your taste buds into believing they needed more salt,

More fat,

More sugar and you found yourself temporarily falling victim to these foods,

Even addicted to them.

But you're much wiser now.

Now raspberries,

Mangoes and grapes taste deliciously sweet.

You don't eat much sugar anymore.

It isn't good for your health.

You cut back for a couple of weeks and the cravings for it began to melt away.

Once in a while you have dessert on a special occasion like your birthday or an anniversary.

But food no longer controls you.

You make choices that are best for you.

You aren't on another fad diet.

You have adopted a new lifestyle.

You're collecting healthy recipes to make for meals,

Sometimes freezing leftovers to have on days when you're super busy.

You no longer listen to friends and family who try to derail you from healthy habits.

You know,

People often do this because they feel threatened by those who have more control or discipline over their lifestyle habits.

When they try to nudge you toward making a choice you don't want to make.

You can say I'm fine.

Thank you.

Or I'm happy eating healthier.

Imagine eating healthy foods that you already like and noticing what it feels like to be sated after a meal and not uncomfortably stuffed.

Visualize yourself at the doctor's office.

When you're called back from the waiting room,

You step on the scale and smile.

And the nurse compliments you on the drop in weight.

Your doctor tells you that your cholesterol and blood pressure have dropped.

You say that you are feeling better than ever before.

You thought that age made you feel tired.

But you realize it was the way you were living your life.

Not treating yourself like you were special,

Like you really mattered.

Caring for yourself,

Really caring for yourself has made all the difference.

Now visualize yourself getting ready to go to sleep at night.

You're feeling pleasantly tired.

Limbs feeling heavy,

Are occasionally yawning.

You stopped watching TV and looking at your electronic devices an hour ago to avoid feeling overstimulated.

And now you're sipping a cup of chamomile tea and reading a book.

You look forward to bedtime now that you sleep soundly through the night.

Having a bedtime ritual has helped and exercising helps.

The exertion makes you sleep very soundly.

Sometimes you listen to a meditation on insight timer before going to sleep to relax even more.

You put on your pajamas,

Wash your face and brush your teeth.

You pull back the covers and slide in under the soft sheets and lay your head on the pillow.

Feeling like you're sinking into a safe nest.

It is time to sleep.

And you've had another good day.

One where you took excellent care of yourself.

This is the life you always wanted to live.

And now you're finally living it.

Now allow these images to descend into the recesses of your mind.

So you can bring them back whenever they serve you.

Bring your awareness back to present moment,

Space and time.

Noticing your body relaxed in the room where you are resting.

Begin to bring slow movements into your fingers and toes.

If you're lying down,

Slowly roll over onto your right side.

And slowly make your way back up to seated.

And just allow your eyes to open.

Thank you,

Dear friend for joining me for this slim for life meditation.

The divine light in me honors the divine light in you.

Namaste
