Good morning,
Good afternoon,
Good evening I've been asked to say something about core beliefs So I'll just spend a few minutes We don't have long on these mornings But we can touch on them Maybe I'll say more on Friday if it's appropriate A core belief is like the operating system It's those deeply held beliefs about our self That have actually gone unquestioned So just for example You spill your coffee Oh you stupid idiot If that's your thing And that's repetitive Then that's a core belief Like something like I'm incompetent I'm useless That's a core belief It's often in the self-talk So notice when that's happening Don't try to stop or change the thinking There's no need to go into positive thinking I mean you can just It's okay,
It's okay Something like that But what you want to do is just stop the ride Don't get on the ride It's when you get on the ride that reinforces it So the moment you see it It doesn't matter if you've been on the ride Because once you've seen it It's irrelevant,
It's finished Don't go back on the ride Oh there I go Being horrible to myself again That's the second ride About the first ride The mind is very sneaky You have to be You have to be alert And maybe you have a work colleague Who winds you up regularly If it's regular And there's a regular trigger Then there's very likely a core belief Like I'm unlovable Nobody likes me So just When you go into those triggers Which we've mentioned before The moment you see it Just stop Stop dead Internally And just really feel and observe what's happening Don't analyse it Or go into the history of why And wherefores That's what the mind wants you to do Then it's proof Because you've got a whole history of this It goes back 40 years You'll never deal with this I'll mention a few core beliefs Just see what resonates I'm useless I'm unlovable I'm no good I'm unattractive I'm unworthy Often around That area I am X,
X,
X,
Whatever So It's just a little bit about core beliefs But we We don't get rid of them The container grows And they become more and more insignificant Less power And as we stop feeding them They do That helps to You know,
That sort of You know They just wither and Just lose their charge That's what they do,
They lose their charge But always done in a moment The only time you can't do anything Can't do anything yesterday Or tomorrow Or later today So if there's someone at work Or a neighbour who Pushes your buttons Look forward to it Oh,
Let's see what happens Let's see what goes on Let's see what they do And my response to that Let's watch it So if you joined us a bit late You may just want to listen to the first couple of minutes And the recording If it interests you Okay So let's Settle in So let's just pick up the mantra Just for a few minutes Shaorim You can sync it with the breath if you wish Shaorim Shaorim Just helps to settle the nervous system And the body Shaorim Shaorim Doesn't mean anything And if you Feel ready you can drop the mantra A direct experience of the breath Just check that you're relaxed You won't be noticing the thoughts Don't go riding them If you do,
Just get off Come back to what's actually happening The sound of the Heating system Feeling of the breath Sensations of contact with the Seat Where are you now?
What's happening?
What's going on?
Just checking that you're not tense Striving ahead Relax any trying Just Being nobody,
Going nowhere Just here Nothing fancy Okay That's the end Have a little Shake or a stretch If anybody's interested There's a non-duality evening tomorrow night 7 till 8 Just drop me a line if you're interested Thank you guys Thank you for coming See you tomorrow Bye
