Within each of us is a unique essence,
The purest,
Most authentic truth of who we are as human beings.
How we express this essence is called presence,
A way of being that is felt,
Not seen,
And can usually be expressed in a single word.
We can often label it as charisma,
Or confidence,
Or grace.
This meditation is designed to help you create sacred space for being with presence in this moment,
Exactly as you are.
And as we begin the meditation and create space for the essence of this single word to arrive for you,
It may seem like the first word feels negative in some way.
Don't be afraid.
Don't judge it as good or bad.
Just sit with it.
Allow yourself to breathe with that word,
Without judgment,
And without trying to change it.
For this is the true practice of meditation,
To just be with what is in this moment.
Trust in the process of your soul guiding you to who you truly are.
And so let's begin.
Allow yourself to settle comfortably,
Breathing easily and naturally.
And with each breath,
Feel your body relaxing.
Feel the muscles letting go.
Thinking deeply,
Easily into the support beneath you.
Deep easy breath.
Feel your body heavy and relaxed.
Allow any random thoughts to simply float by like smoke on the current of air.
There and then gone.
These thoughts floating by without efforting,
Allowing your mind to soften and your body to relax,
Melting like wax into the support beneath you.
And as you breathe,
Begin to notice as you inhale and notice as you exhale.
Notice breathing in.
Notice breathing out.
And as you breathe,
Listen to the sound of your breath.
See if you can listen a little deeper.
And notice the sound of your heart beating.
And as you listen a little deeper.
Notice one word.
One word repeating with each beat of your heart,
With each exhale of your breath.
One word.
Allow yourself to just sit with it,
Breathing deeply with this one word.
And now see if you can breathe a little bit deeper.
Listen to each breath as you inhale and exhale,
Pulling that air in a little deeper than before.
Take a deep,
Deep breath.
Listen to your heartbeat.
And as you exhale,
What one word do you hear?
Say that word to yourself.
What do you notice?
No judgment.
Say the word to yourself.
Feel it roll across your tongue and float through your mind.
This one word.
Breathe deep,
Easy breath.
And as you hold this word in your mind,
As it repeats with your heartbeat,
Allow yourself to feel whatever you feel.
Be with whatever this word means to you.
There is something important for you in this one word.
It holds some meaning or insight for you.
Breathe into this word and allow yourself to become more of who you were meant to be.
Trust that you are being guided.
Breathe deep and easy.
Allow that word to float across your mind and drift away like smoke on the current of the air.
And as you exhale,
What one word do you hear?
Say the word to yourself.
