Your monthly cycle isn’t just physical—it mirrors the seasons and the deeper rhythms of your inner world. In part two of this series, we explore how the Maiden, Mother, Wild Woman, and Crone archetypes align with the four phases of the menstrual cycle and the seasons of the year. This perspective can help you better understand your energy, creativity, rest cycles, and emotional landscape throughout the month. As part of this 3-part series, this teaching invites you to begin living in sync with your natural rhythms. You’re invited to go deeper through Jessica’s Sacred Seasons courses and to share any questions or insights along the way.

Hello,

Hello.

Welcome to part two of this three-part series on the four female archetypes and how they are connected to your cycle,

Your menstruation cycle,

As well as your seasonal cycles throughout your life on a daily,

Weekly,

Monthly,

Yearly,

Lifetime level.

My name is Jessica Amos.

I'm a mindfulness meditation teacher,

A life coach,

And the founder of Stay With Yourself,

Which is the practice of being who you are,

Where you are,

Learning to honor yourself in each moment.

And that's exactly what we're doing here today.

We're honoring ourselves as women,

We're honoring our cycles,

And we're honoring whatever season we are in and whatever archetype we are falling into at this time today.

In this moment.

Okay,

So last time we talked about the archetypes,

Which is maiden,

Mother,

Wild woman,

And crone,

And how they are associated with spring,

Summer,

Autumn,

And winter.

But I want to go a little bit deeper into the energy of each of these archetypes in your menstruation cycle,

In your monthly cycle.

And I know,

I just want to acknowledge that some of you might not be on your cycle,

Some of you are maybe have struggle with your cycle,

It's really inconsistent.

Some of you,

I know,

I have friends who have had,

You know,

Their everything removed.

And so there's no cycle at all happening,

They are maybe thrust into an early autumn or winter phase,

Early menopause,

Or perimenopause,

Or,

You know,

Whatever phase you're in,

This all still applies,

Because whether or not you have your ovaries or your womb,

This is feminine energy we're talking about.

And feminine energy is constantly moving through these four archetypes,

And it's constantly moving through these four cycles.

And it really does move with like the moon phases and on a seven day,

28 day cycle.

So whatever you're out in your actual physical cycle,

I just want you to know,

It all still applies.

But it also will help you understand your physical cycle as well,

And maybe have some grace for it,

Which I love.

Okay,

But let's just start by,

Let's start by talking about the maiden and the energy of the maiden.

And maybe you can identify just where you're at in your life.

So maiden phase,

And I hope you don't mind,

I'm going to use my little sticky notes to make sure that I make sure we're talking about all the points I have set out for you.

Okay,

So the maiden phase,

Is associated with spring,

The inner spring.

And this is called the follicular,

Follicular phase of the menstrual cycle.

So this is right after our menstruation.

And this is leading up to ovulation,

Which is the mother phase.

This is where we feel the most,

Most youthful,

The most confident,

The most creative.

It's a very,

Very creative time.

It's the same as the energy for spring.

If you take my spring renewal course,

It's exactly this,

This energy.

It's a very,

Very creative,

Very active energy.

It's a time for new projects,

It's a time for planning,

It's a time for implementation.

It's a time,

It's like that time when that we want to clean out the closets,

And we want to do everything.

We're just full of energy.

I actually find spring energy to be very overwhelming for where I'm at in my life now.

But I love it.

It feels really good to have that type of energy coming in.

So maiden is just,

It is vibrant,

It is competent,

It is creative,

It is planning,

It is implementing,

It is doing it,

It is doing the thing.

And it's so happy and excited to be doing it.

I love that.

Okay,

So second,

We have the mother phase.

And this is actual ovulation.

This is summer.

So when we're looking at the wheel of the year,

I talk about this in my seasonal courses.

So if you go take my summer course,

You can totally catch the vibe of summer.

Summer is at the top of the wheel of the year.

It's like when we're at the top,

And we're kind of looking out at everything.

It's when everything is at its peak of aliveness.

All the fruit is ripe,

Everything is blossoming.

We are,

We want to be out in the world,

We want to go to the park and ride our bike and swim in the lakes and the rivers and we're going camping and we're seeing family.

Ovulation time is a time,

It's very active energy,

It's very fiery like summer.

And it's truly like that's might also be when your libido is highest and you feel the most erotic and the most alive.

It's because you're ovulating,

Everything in your body says,

Let's make life.

And it's wonderful.

So you're also very magnetic during that time,

You're very expressive,

Social,

I think I mentioned,

You're very connected to pleasure,

Like you just want to enjoy things and soak everything up.

And you also maybe are feeling like you want to take care of things,

You're feeling more nurturing.

So maybe you planted all your seeds in the spring last week when you were in your follicular phase of spring and maiden and you're planting on your seeds and this week you're really tending to them and you're going deeper and you're taking care.

Or it can even be a seasonal cycle type situation.

So I love that,

I love that for maiden,

That's just ovulation.

So then coming out of ovulation,

We're like in week three now of our 28 day cycle.

So 28 day menstrual cycle,

Most women are not actually 28 days,

But it breaks it down into seven day weeks.

We're at the wild woman phase and this is the luteal phase.

This is post ovulation.

So we're in autumn now,

But it's pre menstruation.

And this is where,

This is always the week in a woman's cycle where it gets a little erratic,

Maybe emotionally,

Emotions are high.

A lot of the times is maybe where we start to feel more irritable.

This is where we start letting things go,

Kind of like in autumn,

How the trees are dropping their leaves.

This is the time to like,

We're starting to like evaluate and set some boundaries because like,

You know,

On an internal level in our bodies,

Like we're preparing to bleed here,

We're preparing to menstruate.

So there's something in us that is definitely feeling very intense,

Especially around boundaries and letting go.

We're refining things,

We're noticing what isn't working anymore and we're making changes.

And it can feel kind of intense,

But it's also a time to really start listening to our intuition or intuition will start to speak up kind of because like the body is preparing itself to bleed.

Like we don't have a lot of tolerance for things that we maybe could tolerate last week or two weeks ago.

So that's the autumn,

The luteal phase is what we call that the wild woman phase of our menstrual cycle.

And I think this is one of the most misunderstood parts of the cycle,

To be honest,

And one of the most misunderstood parts of the cycle in a woman's life,

Which we will talk about in part three.

Okay.

And then part four,

The female menstrual cycle is the crone.

And this is the actual bleed,

The actual menstruation.

And this is the winter phase.

And this is,

This is the part where like all the boundaries we said in the luteal phase,

The wild woman phase and,

Um,

The letting things go and the reevaluating all of that was in preparation for winter.

Uh,

It's all in preparation for,

For going still for resting,

For turning inward,

For listening to our intuition,

For becoming more contemplative in,

In our demeanor,

For maybe being more quiet,

Less expressive,

Less social,

The opposite of what we are in the summer.

Cause we're down here in the winter,

We're going into our caves.

We're taking care of ourselves.

So it's quiet,

Reflective,

Intuitive.

Um,

We're totally letting everything go and we're just being,

We're in our being.

This is like the deep intermeditative state.

And I love that.

So,

Um,

That's,

That's really how the four archetypes are tied into our menstrual cycles.

And I find this to be so helpful,

Which we will talk about in part three,

We're going to talk about how to work with these energies and how to follow these energies,

How to stay with ourselves and honor these energies so that we're not working against ourselves so that like,

We're not in the winter phase thinking that we should be in the spring,

But we know spring is coming.

Right.

So,

Um,

I encourage you here for this second part,

Your homework here is to kind of notice where you're at.

So if you're actually in your actual cycle,

See if you can track,

Where are you?

Are you in the follicular,

The ovulation phase,

The luteal or the actual menstruation period?

How are you feeling?

What are your energy levels?

Um,

What is it,

You know,

Even go back and listen to this again and take some notes on,

On the energy for,

For each of these phases and,

And maybe even take some notes on what you need at this time.

Or maybe there's like themes coming up every time you have your cycle and you're like,

Gosh,

I really,

I really want to honor.

I really want to honor this.

So just take some time to be,

Be reflective about where you're at in your cycle.

Even if you aren't,

Um,

If you don't actually have a bleed anymore,

If you're not actually menstruating again,

These cycles still hold in the woman's body.

Your body still follows these,

Follows these cycles,

Even if you no longer have your womb or you're no longer bleeding.

Okay.

Um,

And just notice where you are in your cycle just today.

Okay.

Thank you so much for being here today.

I can't wait to see you for part three until next time.

May you stay with yourself today and always.

Bye.
