Hi,
Today we are doing a deeply relaxing facial massage routine.
All you need are your hands and some sort of face oil or oil cleanser of your choice.
If you don't have an oil cleanser or face oil with you today,
You can bookmark,
Save this video.
You can watch and learn and then come back when you are ready.
I just lit a little bit of incense here.
It turns it into more of ritual pulling the hair back because we are we are working with oil.
Taking a minute to maybe place your hand over your heart,
Arrive here.
Take one or two deep breaths in and out.
Recognize that you're here for a bit of self-care.
And not only is this gonna feel really good and deeply relaxing,
Your skin and your face is gonna look amazing afterwards.
Okay,
I have my face oil here.
I'm going to start with.
About five pumps of oil.
Rub it together in your hands really gently.
And sort of get it lightly,
Evenly distributed around the face.
The chest.
You can do the back of the neck or the shoulders.
Just taking a moment,
Relaxing.
Okay,
So I like to start with the forehead.
Start relaxing the forehead.
We carry so much tension in our forehead.
Going up and inviting our forehead.
Prefrontal cortex to relax.
You can close your eyes if you want.
Take some deep breaths.
Feels really good all the way up along the hairline really rubbing.
Into the scalp.
Then come down here.
Along the front of the nose.
We're moving the energy through today.
A lot of us have eye strain from being on our computers.
You can do little circles too.
I'm going really,
Really light.
The oil allows us to not have to push really deep into the skin.
We can go really light and gentle.
This is something I've had to learn to do as someone who likes to go hard and fast.
You've had to learn to be gentle.
This is a good practice for.
.
.
Inviting the skin to relax.
With AIDS,
So.
.
.
As you can see,
I'm just kind of.
.
.
Going through here.
You have sinus issues or you get headaches.
This is really helpful for that.
We're working our way down the face.
Bring a little smile into it.
I like to get behind the ears over here,
Getting all the way behind the backs of the ears,
Get the front of the ears,
The tops of the ears like this.
And pull on them.
Get inside the ears,
All those little folds inside the ears,
And then you can come.
Down the neck along the jaw.
Whatever feels good,
If it feels awkward.
That's normal.
You'll get used to it.
We have a lymphatic drainage spot right here at the top of our clavicle,
Our collarbone.
Be very gentle at the front of the throat.
Working from the front of the throat,
You might start to notice some drainage.
And that's very good.
That's very good.
And then here in the heart space,
Just sort of working on.
Decollete,
Inviting our heart to open.
You can even Pair this with a little mantra or a prayer.
I choose to open my heart.
I choose to be open.
I choose to be soft.
I choose to let life open me and soften me.
Whatever sounds good.
You could even say,
I am at peace.
All is well.
Okay so after we've worked our way down again it's just sort of Whatever feels good,
We just work our way back up.
And this feels,
This I really love along the side of the ear and the backs of the ear and under the jaw.
I love to smile,
But I also frown a lot too.
I have a lot of feelings,
So it just feels good to help everything.
Move back up.
You can use your full hand and your palms like this.
Yeah,
And under the eyes,
Really helping our eyes relax.
We can do.
You can do the eyebrows like this.
You can pull them up.
There's a face yoga practice where you can pull your eyebrows up and you look down,
You look up and you look down,
You look up.
Just creates a little more spaciousness in the eye socket there.
So again,
We're going up.
Up,
Up,
Up the face.
Back up the forehead.
Then I like to really get into my scalp a little bit.
Because it's all connected.
All the face is connected to the scalp,
To the skull.
We have these minds that are always thinking,
Thinking,
Thinking.
Down here at the base of the school.
Shavua Tov!
Fight and flight and freeze.
Centers here just at the back of the neck.
So giving it a little love there.
In the skull as well.
And then coming back to the sides of the ears.
I love this spot right here.
Right at the back of the ear,
Like right here.
Down in this spot.
You can do any part of this routine.
Any time of day.
So as you do this,
You'll notice.
There's certain spots in your face where you're like,
Ooh,
That feels really good.
And you just want to stay there.
And again,
Be gentle.
We're not pushing hard or doing anything harsh.
We're being gentle with ourselves.
Oh,
That just feels so good.
Doesn't it feel so nice?
I love it.
Thank you so much for doing that with me.
I hadn't done that yet today.
I saved it just for you.
Okay,
And this incense smells so good.
The next thing I do,
And you don't have to do this,
I have a hydrosol spray.
I like to spray this.
You have the end.
And just let it sit.
See,
The hair might get a little messy.
And then after that dries,
You can do all your regular eye creams,
Moisturizers,
Whatever you need,
You can do this.
At night before bed,
It's very relaxing.
You can do it while you watch a movie.
You can do it in between Zoom calls,
Any part of this.
You can do.
I hope that you find it deeply supportive and deeply relaxing.
Thank you for joining me.
I have more videos of this nature that you can follow along if you would like.
My name is Jessica Amos.
Until next time,
May you stay with yourself today and always.
