This recording was created for anyone who struggles with road rage or remaining calm while driving.
Minimize any distractions around you and find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Now find a spot to stare at on the ceiling or wall in front of you.
And with your eyes open really wide,
Take a nice deep inhale.
Really filling up your lungs and belly.
And slowly let it go.
Take another nice deep inhale.
Still staring at the spot on the ceiling or wall.
And slowly let it go.
Take one last deep inhale.
And this time on the exhale,
Just allow your eyes to close.
And just notice as your body melts into the chair below you.
Focus in on the sound of my voice.
Take a moment to thank yourself for taking this time for some self care.
Good.
Now if you have any distracting thoughts,
Just repeat what I say in your mind to bring you back to the sound of my voice.
We are going to start with a full body relaxation.
Focusing in on each part.
Let's start at the top.
Allow your forehead to relax.
Your eyes are soft.
Your jaw is loose.
Neck muscles are loose and relaxed.
Feel your shoulders drop as you become more and more relaxed.
Send that relaxation down your arms.
Into your hands and fingers.
All of your muscles in your back are loose,
Limp and relaxed.
Your stomach muscles are soft.
Feel your hips relaxing now.
Allow your glutes to relax.
And just send that relaxation down your legs.
Into your thighs.
Into your feet.
And toes.
And just enjoy this experience for a moment while I am quiet.
You will access your subconscious mind.
Your subconscious mind is a place of beauty and peace.
A place where you can make your hopes and dreams come to fruition.
I will be counting down from 7 to 1,
Taking you to this calm,
Peaceful place.
As I count down,
You may see yourself walking downstairs to a beautiful beach,
Or some other peaceful image that your mind chooses for you.
On the number 1,
You will find yourself in your place of peace and serenity.
Let's begin.
7 7 You are becoming more and more relaxed.
Going deeper.
6 Down deeper.
5 Deeper down.
To 4.
Drifting down.
To 2.
Doubling your relaxation.
As you go down to 1.
Go ahead and enter your place of serenity and be deeply relaxed.
Now what you are about to hear is your truth.
Because you value safety,
You take a deep breath and relax when you are in a stressful driving situation.
More and more,
You are patient and calm when you drive.
You never know what somebody else's day has been like,
Therefore you have empathy for other drivers.
You follow all the traffic laws to ensure that you are being a safe driver.
You leave early enough so you don't have to rush.
You take your time while driving,
Even if you are running late.
You will get to your destination.
It's okay if you are a little late.
Your safety and those around you is more important.
Nothing is worth taking your peace.
You are courteous and polite to other drivers.
When other drivers let you into the lane,
You smile and wave or give some type of kind acknowledgement.
You are focused on the road and make sure all distractions are put away.
When another driver becomes aggressive towards you,
You do not engage.
You keep your eyes on the road,
Let them pass,
And keep a safe distance from them.
You do whatever you need to do to keep yourself safe,
Even if that means diverting from your destination momentarily.
You only operate a car when you are of sound mind and body.
If you are unable to drive,
You allow someone else to drive or find another mode of transportation.

And so it is.
Now imagine,
Sense,
And feel that you are driving and another driver speeds by you and cuts you off.
They are making aggressive hand gestures and driving sporadically.
You take a deep breath and you can feel your body relax as you back off and let them go.
You calmly assess the situation and decide to turn off the road to put a safe distance between you and the other driver.
You are proud of yourself for not engaging.
Once you feel as though it is safe,
You get back onto the route to your destination.
This moment reinforces to you that getting upset while driving is not worth the energy or the potential danger it can put you in.
Now notice how good it feels to be in control of your emotions and to make better choices.
Make it as real and as vivid as possible in your mind.
Good.
Now I am going to count.
When I reach the number five,
Your eyes will open and you will feel calm,
Relaxed,
And ready to enjoy the rest of your day.
One,
You are beginning to come back to your full awareness now.
Two,
Slowly notice movement coming back into your body.
Three,
Begin to move your fingers and toes.
Three,
Your entire body is relaxed and limber.
You feel fantastic.
Four,
Begin to find more movement throughout your entire body.
And five,
Open your eyes.
Take a nice deep breath in.
Stretch your arms and legs.
Good.
Now take a moment before carrying on with your day.
Right now may be a good time to journal about how you are feeling.
For optimal results,
Listen to this recording every day.
Repetition is key for successful reprogramming of your mind.
Thank you so much for your time.
Have a wonderful day.
