Why are you knocking at every door?
Go knock at the door of your own heart.
I share these words with you by Rumi Hi,
I'm Shannon,
And grateful you're joining me for our guided practice and Reiki session today.
When faced with the painful place of dealing with a broken heart,
The truth is the very last thing we feel like doing is actually sitting in the space of the heart that's broken open.
Opening that door to our heart lets even more pain inside.
But this is how true healing takes place while at the same time keeping your heart open to yourself and to the world around you.
Whether we're facing a broken heart from the loss of a relationship,
The ending of a friendship,
The passing of a loved one,
Whether a person or animal friend,
The betrayal of a soul friend,
The pain physically of a broken heart and the emotional pain that we face is real.
They've even discovered scientifically a medical condition they called Takutsubo cardiomyopathy,
Which is also known as broken heart syndrome.
The heart actually changes shape after suffering from one of these emotional strains.
That's why it's important for us to not tuck away our emotional distress,
But instead,
Like Buddha,
To invite it in,
To sit with it,
Feel it,
And then let it flow through us like waves of an ocean.
Poet and spiritual teacher Rumi wrote this poem which talks about letting feelings,
Emotions,
And those things that swirl around us into our homes,
Our hearts,
Ourselves.
It's called The Guest House.
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning,
A new arrival,
A joy,
A depression,
A meanness,
Some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all.
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture,
Still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought,
The shame,
The malice,
Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.
And isn't this just how a broken heart feels?
Our house,
Our physical home,
Our emotional self of the heart having to open to the guests of grief,
Pain,
Anger,
And sadness.
That's why I'd like to offer this guided practice in Reiki session today.
Not as a way of fixing your heart,
But as a way of being with you on the journey through opening and honoring the feelings that you're experiencing so that you can find a way to sit with them,
Not let them overtake you,
And so that you can continue to keep your heart open so that your heart grows with even more love.
Loving is one of the most important feelings that we can have for ourselves,
For those around us.
It's how we connect as humans,
How we connect to our planet,
How we care for all that is around us.
So when we keep our heart open,
Even in the face of being broken,
It allows us to continue to love in the world.
And this is why I invite you to join me today for our Angelic Buddhist Reiki Healing Session for your heart as we expand our hearts bigger and wider that we can love again and again.
So how is this a Buddhist practice in the guided meditation that I'll be walking us through?
When Buddha moved into the world and saw all the suffering,
Finally when he was able to sit,
Feel it all,
And let it flow through him,
His enlightenment arrived,
That Bodhi tree.
So in this way he invites those feelings of suffering or difficulty to have tea.
He invites them in just like Rumi talks about inviting the feelings into the guest house.
This way we can listen to our hearts,
Allow the feelings in,
But then also allow them to flow through us and back out into the earth who holds them and transforms them for us.
And how is this guided practice and Angelic Reiki practice as well?
During the session I will be guiding you on a journey and allowing you to sit inside with the feelings of your heart.
Archangel Raphael,
The angel of heart healing,
Will be joining us during this session.
So I'll be channeling his energy with Reiki to flow through your heart and help expand those places that feel hurt and overwhelmed.
Now before we begin moving into the guided practice,
I'll have you do two things for me first.
The first one is,
Because we're inviting emotions in that can feel difficult or overwhelming,
I'll have you first do a check-in with yourself to make sure you feel centered and grounded enough to hold the space for the feelings that might flow through when we invite them in.
If right now you don't feel ready to go on this guided journey with me,
That's okay.
You can stop this here and come back to the practice when you do feel it's the right time for you.
Always listen to the inner guidance of yourself.
If you are ready to move forward with our guided Buddha Angel Reiki meditation,
Then in order to best receive the Reiki fully,
I'll just have you take the time to say yes in this moment that you'd like to receive the energy that comes through from Archangel Raphael during the session.
So I'll have you take this time now to say yes.
When you're ready,
I'll have you move into a comfortable position for our guided meditation and Reiki session,
Whether that's seated or lying down.
Allow yourself to become comfortable and let's move into the space of our heart.
When you're ready,
I'll have you close your eyes,
Becoming present with your breathing,
With each inhale and exhale,
Allowing your heart rate to slow down,
Your nervous system to quiet,
And your mind to relax.
Taking a deep breath in and exhaling,
I'll have you take both of your hands and place them gently on your chest,
Over your heart,
Allowing your hands,
Your mind,
Your breath to connect with your heart space physically,
Emotionally,
Energetically.
Take a deep breath in,
Breathing your breath through your arms into your hands and feeling it go into your heart,
And exhaling,
Allowing the energy of your heart to move back through your hands,
Your arms,
And spending the next moment of silence,
Allowing your hands to connect with your heart,
With its energy,
With the beating of life through your body.
As we begin this journey into your heart,
I'll have you imagine now standing in front of the space of your heart.
As you stand in front of your heart now,
I'll have you see that there is a beautiful doorway that leads into your heart space.
What does this door look like?
How is it shaped?
What is it made out of?
What does the handle to the doorway into your heart look like?
Spend a moment just looking and connecting with the doorway into your heart space.
Now reaching out with your hand in your imagination,
I'll have you knock on the door of your heart,
And the door opens,
And it is Buddha who answers the door,
Who's already inside your heart space.
Buddha invites you in,
Invites you into your own heart.
You step inside the room of your heart and take time to look around.
What does it look like,
Feel like,
As you move around the space that is your heart?
Buddha goes back to the center of the space where there is a beautiful rug.
He sits down in meditation.
You know that you can join him there when you're done looking around the space of your heart.
Imagine that your heart is like the inside of a home.
As you explore it,
What do the walls and paint and textures look like?
What do the floors of each room look like?
What memories are present with you in each space?
You might notice where there are cracks or breaks in the walls or foundation.
Know that you are safe to explore,
That Buddha is present as you make your way through the home of your heart.
Imagine that the different cracks or breaks along the walls or ceilings or floor represent different times in your life where you have suffered heartbreak.
When you're ready,
He'll have you move to one specific space that's calling to you,
That wants to share with you a memory.
I'll have you go to that space in the home of your heart that's calling to you now,
Standing in front of it.
As you stand in front of this wounded space,
You ask your heart to share with you the memory that is present there.
You are grounded and safe so that as the memory comes back to you of this heartbreak or difficulty,
That as the memory washes through and over you,
It's just for you to be present to it so that you know that it's still there and wants to share with you so that you can help heal this space of your heart.
And as the feelings of the memory and the emotions wash through you,
Know that you are grounded and protected.
Just allow yourself to be present to what your heart shares with you now.
Know that you are held in love and light.
Listen to the memories of your heart.
Now take a deep breath in and exhale.
When you're ready,
I'll have you walk back to the front of the home of your heart where Buddha sits on the meditation rug and I'll have you join him there now.
As you approach the meditation rug,
You see that next to Buddha,
Archangel Raphael also sits.
The archangel of heart healing.
They both welcome you to sit with them on the meditation rug.
You sit down with them now.
In front of you,
You see there is a beautiful candle that's lit.
Buddha asks you to look at the candle flame as it flickers.
To focus on this light is the first light that begins to heal the space of your broken heart.
Buddha asks you now to take each of the memories that the home of your heart shared with you and speak each one into the flame of the candle that's lit in front of you.
By speaking each one out loud,
You allow it to move through your body out of you and into this candle light.
You also allow it to be held by Buddha and Archangel Raphael so that you do not hold this alone.
Take this time now in this moment of silence to speak each one of these heartbreaks.
Each one of these memories into the flame of the lit candle,
Into the heart of Buddha,
And into the hands of Archangel Raphael.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Buddha now asks you to once again look into the light of the candle which now is glowing with clarity and brightness.
By staring at the clarity and brightness of the candle flame,
Buddha asks you to take a deep breath in,
Breathing in this clarity and light into your heart and lungs.
As you exhale,
Allowing any pain that remains inside to be exhaled out.
Take another deep breath in,
Breathing in this Buddha light into your heart and exhaling.
Take another deep breath in,
Breathing in this Buddha light into your heart and exhaling.
Archangel Raphael now stands up and walks over to where you are seated.
He sits down beside you.
Archangel Raphael now asks you if you wish to receive Reiki for the healing of your broken heart.
You now give your answer to Archangel Raphael so that he may send this healing light to you.
With your permission,
Archangel Raphael now places one hand in front of your chest,
One hand behind your chest,
As if holding the energetic heart of you in his hands.
He now begins to send the emerald green waves of healing angelic light through both of his hands and it begins to move through your heart,
Around your heart.
Receive this energy now from Archangel Raphael and allow yourself to continue to breathe deeply,
Letting that healing light into your heart space.
As you continue to receive the healing emerald light from Archangel Raphael,
The home of your heart begins to glow in a beautiful jade green warm light,
Filling the entire space not only inside of you but around you.
Filling up this entire home of your heart as the light touches those spaces and memories.
It begins to soothe them,
To hold them,
This angelic light being present for you.
Continue to receive this healing energy and take a deep breath in and exhale.
Archangel Raphael now moves to stand in front of you,
Kneeling down where you are seated.
He has you open your hands palms up in front of him.
He places his hands on top of yours.
He begins to move his energy of angelic light and heart healing from his hands into yours.
Allow yourself to receive this energy through your hands now.
Now he asks you to take both of your hands and place them on your chest over the space of your heart.
As you hold your own heart in your hands,
You feel the energy from Archangel Raphael he gifted you moving through your hands into your own heart.
Allow yourself to receive the light of your own love through your heart.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Archangel Raphael now has you extend your hands out to him palms up.
He places his hands on yours and closes the transmission of energy for this time now.
You thank Archangel Raphael for the gift of light and love that he's gifted with you today.
You look to the side where Buddha was seated next to you.
No longer Buddha himself,
But now a beautiful Bodhi tree growing in the center of the home of your heart.
This tree of enlightenment,
Gentleness,
Wisdom,
And grace.
Buddha planting the seed of love in your heart whenever you need to come back to this space and sit under the Bodhi tree.
Buddha will be here with you,
Always present in your heart.
Archangel Raphael gently touches the top of your head,
Thanking you for being here today,
And then he transforms into a beautiful bird flying up into the branches and leaves of the Bodhi tree.
Seated among the Bodhi tree branches,
Archangel Raphael now begins to sing a beautiful bird song that fills your heart with lightness.
Listen to the song of your heart now.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
I'll have you thank the Bodhi tree,
Buddha,
Archangel Raphael,
And your own heart for being present today.
When you're ready,
I'll have you walk back to the doorway of your heart from where you first entered this space.
When you're ready,
Stepping through that doorway and back out into this present moment with me here.
Now placing both hands once again on your chest over the energetic space of your heart.
Thanking your heart for all of its feelings,
Emotions,
Pains,
And joys.
Knowing that as you grow the space of your heart,
That you will know more love in your life by continuing to open your heart wider,
Holding space just like Buddha can for all that is important for you.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
And coming back to this present moment with me here in this time.
Opening your eyes when you're ready and gently stretching your body,
Awakening it once more.
Moving your legs and arms,
Stretching your arms overhead and opening your hands.
Gently moving your fingers and toes.
And coming back with me here.
Thank you for taking this journey with me today into the spaces of your broken heart in the hopes that healing can happen for you.
Acknowledging those feelings that are present are important so that we can bring light to them,
Just like Buddha showed us how to sit in those places.
Know that you can come back to this practice as many times as you need to in order to allow your heart to begin to heal.
I'd like to close our practice today with a poem by John O'Donohue called To Come Home to Yourself.
May all that is unforgiven in you be released.
May your fears yield their deepest tranquilities.
May all that is unlived in you blossom into a future graced with love.
I wish you a beautiful day.
Namaste.
