Welcome to your meditation.
What a gift you are giving yourself now as a way to reset,
To reconnect and to remember what matters most to you.
We are living in changing times and sometimes we welcome change and we are excited for it.
We meet change with this anticipation and enthusiasm because we sense the new beginnings that are on the horizon.
Yet sometimes we resist change.
It can feel scary and it can bring up a lot of trepidation because it brings up uncomfortable feelings as we face the unknown.
As we navigate and move through these changing times,
We can go within to feel grounded,
To feel connected and to feel supported so that we can meet these changes with clarity,
With courage and with grace.
So as you get settled,
Whether it's in your chair,
On a meditation cushion or lying flat on the floor,
Maybe on a yoga mat or even settled in bed,
Whatever feels the most comfortable for you,
Take this time to relax your body.
As you scan how you feel today,
Starting at the top of your head,
Notice how the muscles in your face feel.
Relax your jaw,
Swallow as you soften the back of your throat,
Relax your eyes as you shut them down and feel every muscle in your face releasing.
You might imagine that your mind is a big blue expansive sky and any thoughts that you have are like fluffy clouds,
Letting your thoughts float in and float out,
Knowing that they will come from time to time but you don't have to attach to them and you don't have to force them to leave either.
Simply allow your mind to relax as your thoughts float in and out.
Bring that sense of relaxation down the neck and shoulders as you relax your shoulders away from your ears,
Feeling your arms rest heavy,
Either your hands in your lap or if you're lying down,
Your hands at your sides.
The belly is softening,
The back is softening,
Your hips,
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your ankles and toes,
Everything in your body is relaxing now as you settle into this moment,
Allowing yourself the space to surrender,
To be present.
You don't have to figure anything out in this moment.
You don't have to do anything.
Simply tune in to the sound of your own breath like an ocean wave.
Can you hear it travel in and travel out?
With each breath,
You feel your belly deepen as you inhale.
Feel the breath rise up to the chest and open your heart.
And then as you exhale,
Just let that wave travel all the way out.
Do that a few more times with intention,
Breathing in and as you exhale,
Release any tension from your body.
Feeling the gift that comes from the exhale,
The relaxation that comes over your body and your mind as you allow your spirit to flow with your breath.
Now that you're relaxed and centered,
Imagine your favorite place in nature.
Maybe it's walking on the beach with the sand in your toes.
You can hear the ocean waves in the distance.
Maybe you're floating on a canoe on a still lake in the mountains.
Maybe you're swirling and dancing around in an open field of wild flowers.
Maybe you're lying in the forest on a picnic blanket watching the clouds float by.
Where's your favorite place in nature,
The place that awakens your senses?
Imagine yourself there.
What does it sound like?
What does it feel like?
What does it look like?
As you imagine yourself there,
Maybe you can hear birds chirping in the distance.
Maybe you can feel the wind gently blowing through your hair.
Maybe you can feel the warmth of the summer sun on your face.
Maybe you can smell the salt from the ocean waves or the pine trees from the forest.
You might even feel like softly smiling as you imagine yourself there,
Remembering that you are nature and your true nature is always within you.
Now that you're relaxing and you're practicing the gift of presence,
Bring your attention now to your feet.
If you're sitting,
Then your feet are planted on the floor,
Or maybe you're lying down and you can feel the backs of your heels,
The backs of your legs,
Your seat connecting to the chair or the floor or your bed.
Bring your attention there and see if you can allow either the chair or the floor or your bed.
See if you can allow it to hold you up.
Again,
You're practicing surrendering in this moment,
Letting go,
Allowing yourself to relax.
You don't have to hold yourself up in this moment.
So allow the earth to hold you and feel as though you're anchored here on the earth,
Rooted to mother earth,
Grounded with Gaia.
You can feel her loving embrace,
Her security and support that she offers you in this moment.
And as you ground with mother earth,
You remember that you are also earth.
You are made from the same energy that the earth is made with.
And that universal life force energy is running through your body right now,
Through your breath as you root and ground and anchor with the earth.
As you continue to breathe,
You feel the ocean wave travel in and out.
And in this moment,
You remember that you are water.
You are a drop of water in the ocean.
You are connected to the body of water.
That water is within you and it allows you to live and move and go with the flow of life.
As you are anchored here with mother earth and you are breathing in the water,
Bring your attention to the core of your being,
That inner light that is the true essence of who you are.
And just like a little flame,
You are the flame that's connected to fire.
As bright as the summer sun,
You are fire.
And as you take this moment of stillness for yourself and connect to your inner light,
You ignite the passions within you.
You connect to your inner power and you shine your authentic light from the inside out.
As you continue to breathe here and let your breath travel in and out effortlessly,
You can feel this air at the heart center expanding your heart,
Letting it rise up to the sky.
And as you do that,
You create this spaciousness within you,
Feeling the heaviness of your body,
But the spaciousness around your heart.
Knowing that you are here to take up space and that you are here to express who you truly are.
And as you connect with your spirit self,
You know there's an inner wisdom that lives within you,
That you have an intuition that is your guide.
It is your teacher.
It is here to help you along your path and that you are learning how to trust in that,
How to listen to it and find the courage to follow where it leads you next,
Even when the change is unknown,
Even when you're not sure where the path is taking you.
You are supported and connected to your spirit self.
You're also connected to source.
You can feel the source supporting you in your heart center,
In every breath,
In the earth that you're anchored to,
In the spark of light that makes you,
You and all around you.
Take this time now as you feel supported,
As you flow,
As you feel that inner light,
As you feel your breath travel in and out,
And you feel the spaciousness and the invitation to remember and connect to your spirit self as you're supported by source,
Knowing that you're never truly alone.
Be in the stillness now.
Allow the earth to hold you.
Allow source energy to surround you with light and love.
Allow your spirit to surrender and be here now with nothing else to do but to let your breath breathe your body.
And I will let you know when it's time to come back.
Start to bring awareness back to your body as you breathe in and out very gently.
In your next breath in,
Breathe in all that fresh new energy into every cell of your body.
And then slowly exhale.
Start to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Keeping your eyes closed.
Slowly notice how you feel.
Remember,
Your true nature is peace.
It is joy.
It is unconditional love.
For yourself and for the world.
So when you're facing transition or challenges or transformation in your own life,
Remember that the tools to navigate that change lie within you.
It's always good to reach for support when you need it,
To always remember you're never alone,
And to make space for stillness,
To get quiet,
To go within,
To connect with your heart space because it's there where your true wisdom,
Inspiration,
And intuition live.
It is there where that source light energy is here to guide you.
Your true nature is one with nature.
You are earth.
You are water.
You are fire.
You are air.
You are space.
You are your spirit self.
You are source.
Let that remembrance guide you on your path.
