Hi,
I'm Shia Astra and welcome to this session all about being here.
In the moment.
And what is?
Maybe it's after something that was hard and scary and painful and difficult.
Maybe it's before something that.
.
.
Might be hard and scary and painful and difficult.
We're just going to take a moment to come here.
And be here together.
In this space and time.
In this location.
And I want you to start to orient yourself.
To start to find yourself.
And I know those words are everywhere.
Find yourself,
Find yourself,
Find yourself.
And that's the first thing that we're going to start to shift.
Is that finding yourself is just a belief.
That there's no you to actually find.
It can feel like that sometimes,
Especially when we are in the befores,
In the afters of what's happening.
It can feel super overwhelming,
Like all the things.
What do you do?
The system's flooded.
How do you handle it?
Just breathe.
So we're going to start to work on the connections inside your body that allow you to have the resources to handle it.
It's like when you're hungry.
You need food.
And if you don't have that,
Then.
.
.
You can't think yourself a failure for not eating.
Just breathe.
This is a session,
And really so much of my work is like this,
Where healing is happening not just in what I'm saying or what you're experiencing,
But underneath the surface.
So you don't have to do anything.
You don't have to think your way there.
You don't have to perform or mask or try and Push yourself inside so that something changes and happens.
You've had enough of that.
This is where we're going to start to locate you.
And help you locate your spot.
That's what I mean when I say find yourself.
Like,
Where are you?
And you can tap on your chest and say,
Here I am.
Is that you?
You can list off all the things that you're doing.
I am.
.
.
A student.
I am creating a business.
I am a parent.
My colleague.
I'm going here,
I'm doing this.
That's not you.
So when I say find yourself,
I'm speaking to the you.
That's here.
The you that gets up every day and keeps trying.
The you that believes that more is possible.
You that hopes and prays and dreams.
The you that wants something.
Because there is desire in you.
And maybe it's really,
Really,
Really pushed down,
Tamped down,
Hard to access,
But it's there.
And it comes up when you say things like,
I just want to feel better.
I just want to know who I am.
I just want to remember myself.
I just want it to not hurt.
I just want to be here.
I just want to be okay.
Nice deep breath.
And start naming yours.
The desire.
And there might be a couple.
But there's usually.
.
.
Just one that rises to the surface.
Sometimes it is to avoid pain.
I just want to get out of where I am.
I just want to make things better.
I just want to not hurt.
And sometimes it's so that we can be okay.
I just want to feel okay.
I just want to be here.
I just want to be in the moment.
I just want to be in my body.
I just want everything to be all right.
So this is where you check in with yourself.
Truthfully,
Honestly.
To see what direction you're facing.
If you're facing the pain.
The suffering.
I just want to get away from them.
If you're facing the stillness,
The calm,
The peace,
I just want things to be okay.
Because either way.
.
.
You're facing something.
Outside yourself.
So this might feel a little dizzy making.
As it moves through but we're starting to move your energy the way it flows,
The way it shifts,
The way it is oriented in your body to help you face forward.
And forward in your own life looks like.
I just wanna move forward.
I just want to start something new.
I just want to figure it out.
I just want to feel better.
So that I can do what makes me happy.
I just want to live my life free.
Notice the difference in the language.
But the orientation.
That's what I want you to feel.
The way that you're facing.
And you may want to physically move your body.
Even just a little bit with where you're seated,
Where you're laying.
Look for the sun.
Look for the brightness.
Look for the thing inside that shows you,
Oh my gosh,
That is what forward facing would look like.
That's what it would look like if I could get out of all of this and actually Become who I want to be.
That's forward.
Nice deep breath.
I'm just helping you to hold this orientation.
There you go.
And give your body a little bit of a wiggle just to come back into it,
Just to help shift what we're working on.
And think about again.
Where are you?
And feel the answer that comes up now,
How it might be different,
How it might feel a little more right here.
I'm right here.
Facing forward.
I'm here,
I'm in my body.
I'm right here.
I'm okay.
I'm okay.
Big deep breath,
Nice deep breath.
And let yourself be here.
Let this be something that becomes more.
Natural normal.
Average feeling for you?
Let it be something that helps to reorient you as you are moving forward into what's next,
As you are.
Shifting from what was,
From the before and the afters and the afters that are after what used to be a before,
All of it.
When you're ready.
Slowly open your eyes and come back to the room.
