Sometimes when we feel stuck there's a lot of things going on and it's the feeling that we have as we look at all of the different choices and how do we make that decision.
But sometimes when we feel stuck it's because we are actually moving forward but everything around us is staying in a pattern that doesn't allow us to see what's actually happening.
So if we can update what's happening to help you see that things are actually changing,
Then we can start working on the feeling that springs out of it.
So let's begin.
Take a deep breath and settle yourself in,
Leaving everything outside of this session,
Everything outside of our time together.
When we start to tune in with what's going on,
I want you to think about that stuck feeling.
Does it live somewhere in your body?
Is it in your head?
Is it outside of you?
Where is it?
See if you can locate the feeling and I know it might feel uncomfortable to lean into.
Just breathe,
Know that you're safe.
There it is,
That feeling right there.
Notice what comes up.
Notice what you're thinking about,
What you're aware of,
And I want you to think about what is just outside of whatever it is that has been keeping you stuck.
You may notice space,
Heaviness,
Stiffness.
You may feel a sense of rigidity,
Unsurety.
Just bring your attention there,
Just outside,
Right?
Like if that stuck feeling were a house,
We're gonna look at the neighborhood,
We're gonna look at the street,
And I know this might be new for you,
That's okay.
Just play.
Let yourself stretch into this kind of work.
Take a nice deep breath and begin to let yourself exhale,
Just releasing what you don't need.
Because we need to start to see how all of the things outside of you and all of the things inside of you,
When it comes to this stuck feeling,
Are sort of butting up against each other.
That stuck feeling doesn't exist in a vacuum and everything outside of you that's been going on,
That felt like it was asking and doing and moving and not in alignment with you,
When we shift it,
There is an energy in there that we want to start to move.
So I want you to name aloud the first thing that comes to your mind.
I feel stuck,
You can say,
And I'm scared to,
Or I'm scared that,
Good.
And when that happens,
Your system is like,
Whoa,
That's a lot to hear.
So we're gonna bring some balance to your heart,
Your lungs.
You can even put your hands,
Holding them,
Or imagine them in your mind's eye.
How would they talk to each other?
If your heart were to speak to your lungs,
What would it say?
Would it be angry?
Kind?
Loving?
Speak those words.
Speak the words your heart wants to say to your lungs,
Whatever comes to your mind.
Share it aloud.
It doesn't have to make sense.
Let your heart speak.
And your lungs have been breathing in life for you,
They've been taking things in,
They've been helping you to literally live.
And they just heard this message from your heart.
How does that feel in your lungs to have heard that message?
And what do your lungs want to say back to your heart?
What do they want to share?
Speak for them now,
Say it aloud.
And let your heart hear those words,
Taking it in,
Giving it the attention,
Giving it the respect and the listening.
And we're gonna start to breathe in and build a better connection between these two.
Can you feel that?
Can you feel this sense of something that has been struggling between them,
Suffering between them,
Not speaking well between your heart and your lungs?
And your heart is this place inside of you that moves things through your body.
It helps the blood move,
It senses the rhythm and the tides and everything that's happening within every organ,
Within every cell,
Every place within you at the physical level the heart is paying attention to.
The lungs have been taking in life,
They've been doing and doing and doing.
And your heart has been feeling and feeling and sensing and trying to understand and figure out and all of it.
And your lungs are just breathing and doing and forcing and pushing and inhaling and exhaling.
And I want you to feel that rhythm that's been between them.
And how stuck that that can feel.
You might have a little sadness coming up,
It's okay if it doesn't make sense or you have another emotion.
We're restoring the connection between your heart and your lungs so that they can feel the energy of each other,
So that they can be in better harmony,
Better balance with each other.
Let them begin to get to know each other.
Let them begin to communicate.
Notice what your heart's been needing that it hasn't been getting.
Maybe kind words,
More truth,
Maybe more love,
More attention,
More affection.
Or maybe it's been needing you to listen more.
When you do things in your life to take your heart into account,
Not write it off.
Hear your heart.
Hear what it wants to tell you in this space.
Deep breath in.
And again,
It's okay if you have some emotions moving.
And thank your heart.
Thank you for telling me.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for showing me what you've been feeling,
What you need.
Know your lungs.
Ask them,
Lungs,
What do you need?
What have I been not letting in or forcing or trying too hard?
Where have I been in a mismatch?
Ask your lungs to show you,
To help you understand.
Nice,
Gentle breath at whatever pace feels right for you.
Whatever rhythm your lungs want to be in.
And thank them.
Thank you for telling me.
Thank you for sharing this with me.
I know it can feel really silly,
But we're honoring the connection between your heart and your lungs.
We're honoring the flow between what gives you life and what helps you live.
And I want you to bring your attention back to that thing before that felt really,
Really stuck.
What feels different now?
What's changed?
What wants to move now?
What's ready to show you and help you?
What's ready to be known?
One more nice,
Deep breath.
Let yourself be in this in-between space where your mind doesn't quite understand,
But your body gets it.
And let yourself feel into that space that was just outside of that stuck feeling that we were working on before,
Too.
What's different there?
Notice what you see and notice the feeling of,
Oh,
There's something different.
Something's shifted.
Maybe it's a color,
A texture,
Or just the feeling.
Maybe it's a little less intense than it was before.
And I want you to feel into that relief that comes with something changing.
Something moved.
And I want you to let that feeling just move through your whole body because that's the feeling that is going to help things move.
You may want to re-listen to this session a few times as needed.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes and come back to the room.
