Reset after cognitive overload so your mind can fully recover.
Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Make yourself comfortable and if you like,
Gently close your eyes.
Allow your body to settle.
Now notice the feeling of mental fatigue,
That subtle heaviness when you've been thinking for too long or perhaps when you've been deciding for too long.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale imagine turning off multiple switches in your mind one by one.
Each switch represents a task or a decision or a responsibility.
Take another slow breath and with each exhale turn off another switch.
Notice how your mind becomes a little quieter,
Less active.
Now imagine a soft steady light remaining.
Not everything off,
Just enough to rest.
Take another breath.
Realize that recovery is not doing nothing.
It's reducing input so that your mind can restore itself.
Now repeat quietly.
I allow my mind to recover.
Rest improves my performance.
I don't need constant input to stay effective.
Stepping back restores clarity.
Feel your mind beginning to recharge.
Take another slow breath and remain here in this moment,
In this reduced state and stay in it for as long as you need.
Thank you for allowing your mind to reset and when you're ready slowly open your eyes and let me leave you with these words.
It's a great day to be alive.
