Notice what you normally miss.
So everyday moments become sources of clarity.
Find a comfortable,
Low-lit place to sit or lay down.
And slowly close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath.
In through your nose.
And out through your mouth.
And begin to relax your entire body.
With every breath in.
Allow your awareness to widen.
With every breath out.
Allow unnecessary effort to leave your body.
Most of life.
Is not changed by extraordinary moments.
It's quietly shaped by ordinary moments that receive extraordinary attention.
Imagine.
Walking along a familiar path.
That you've traveled hundreds of times.
Today.
You slow your pace.
You notice a tree that you've never truly looked at.
The bark pattern.
The pattern.
In its bark.
Notice the pattern in its bark.
The movement.
Of its leaves.
The quiet confidence.
With which it simply grows.
Take another slow breath.
Notice that nothing about the tree has changed.
Only your attention is changed.
Sometimes clarity doesn't arrive because life becomes different in any way.
It arrives because we begin noticing what has always been there all along right in front of us.
Think of a conversation that you may have today.
Imagine listening not only for words but for pauses.
For tone.
For expression.
For the feeling beneath the sentence.
Perhaps you're even listening for the gaps in between the words,
The space,
The nothingness.
Often people reveal themselves.
Between their words,
Not only through them.
Your mind strengthens.
Whenever it repeatedly notices.
When you repeatedly notice gratitude.
Or notice patience or beauty.
Wisdom.
Those pathways gradually become easier to find.
This is one of the quiet ways the brain learns.
Not through force.
But through repetition.
Now repeat quietly.
Attention.
Is one of my greatest resources.
What I repeatedly notice becomes part of me.
Small moments often carry great wisdom.
I choose to live awake.
Rather than rushed.
Imagine carrying this awareness into the rest of your day.
Waiting at a traffic light.
Drinking your morning coffee.
Looking into someone's eyes.
These ordinary moments become invitations instead of interruptions.
Before you leave.
Carry this observation with you.
The richest parts of life.
Are often hidden inside moments that we almost forget.
Hurry!
In the past.
Take all the time you need.
Thank you for practicing the art of noticing.
When you're ready.
Slowly open your eyes,
And let me leave you with these words.
It's a great day to be alive.
