Welcome.
I invite you to join me on a journey.
You can sit comfortably.
Close the eyes.
Feel the body breathing.
Notice how the body holds itself,
How it holds tension in the face,
The shoulders,
The heart,
The belly,
Even the feet.
Unconscious tension being held.
And now let's breathe in together.
And as you exhale,
Imagine or feel this wave of energy of light moving through you,
Releasing all of this tension.
Inhale deeply.
Exhale slowly,
This wave moves through every fiber of your being,
Allowing you to let go.
Continue.
With each exhalation there is this wave of energy that moves through your entire being,
Bringing presence and an invitation,
Permission to let go.
You may feel your body becoming heavier,
Relaxing more into the support beneath you,
Behind you.
Every breath welcomes presence and a sense of allowing.
There is nothing to fight,
To resist.
No problem to fix or solve here.
Simply and allowing.
With each breath.
Imagine you're standing on the earth,
Barefoot.
The soil beneath your feet is a mixture of warm and cool.
Soft.
Feel how you are supported standing on the earth.
In this moment,
You have everything you need.
Feel your feet on the earth and slowly in your mind's eye,
Look up from the ground to the sky above you.
This expansive blue sky,
Vibrant,
Infinite.
Take a deep breath.
Allow yourself to be just as you are in this moment.
Again,
There's nothing to solve,
To fix,
To change here.
All of you is welcome.
As you continue to look upon this exquisite blue sky,
Begin to notice the wispy clouds that are passing above your head across the blue sky.
Floating,
Passing,
And eventually going out of view.
When you see these clouds,
Isn't it clear that they are not the blue sky?
They are something temporary,
Transient.
Look again at the deep blue of the sky.
You are like this sky.
Infinite.
Eternal.
This is who you are.
And all that you are feeling in this moment,
Every worry in your mind,
Every thought or feeling of unforgiveness,
Anger,
Sadness,
Pain.
All of these experiences are like the clouds.
Transient.
Temporary.
Passing over your experience of yourself.
Notice the mind's tendency to try to grab on to these clouds.
To hold on to,
To resist feeling.
To hold on to thoughts and spin them in our minds,
Day after day.
Especially the thoughts that we experience as uncomfortable or painful.
We tend to repeat these thoughts,
Replay situations,
Conversations in our minds over and over.
Not realizing that they are just clouds passing by.
We hold on to them.
And we keep ourself in this experience of suffering.
Because we don't let them go.
And we think they are who we are.
There are many accounts of a different species of animal being raised by another.
A cat that thinks it's a dog.
A duck that thinks it's a sheep.
Because it has been so focused on what it sees as itself.
The duck sees the sheep and naturally thinks it is a sheep.
It becomes identified with its image of itself due to what it sees and focuses on.
It doesn't know that it is not a sheep.
But it thinks it most definitely is.
We experience these thoughts that come and go.
We experience the pain,
The discomfort and the pleasure of these bodies.
And we think they are who we are.
But we are not the clouds.
We are not these temporary experiences.
We are the witness.
We are the one who is watching these experiences.
We are the observer of sensation.
We are not the sensation.
You are the blue sky.
Eternal.
Infinite.
And all of the experiences that seem so important,
That seem so necessary to get so caught up in.
Trying to solve and figure things out and fight and resist.
They are not who we are.
These experiences are not who we are.
Remember.
Remember.
Remember who you are.
Remember.
Remember.
Remember.
Remember.
Eternal nature.
Eternal nature,
Expressing itself in form.
An unbounded ocean of light.
Consciousness.
Experiencing itself in the play of individuality.
There is only one.
One ocean of light.
We are each drops of this same ocean.
Remembering that the droplets are not separate from the ocean itself.
Oneness.
Unity.
Eternality.
I invite you to stay in this space for as long as you like.
If you are ready to take this experience,
This remembrance,
Into your daily experience.
You can slowly begin to move the physical body and I invite you to experience this body as this ocean of light,
Of consciousness.
As you move the body with awareness,
Sense that you are the one moving the body,
Rather than being the body.
When you are ready,
Slowly open the eyes.
See through the eyes of the eternal self.
See the world around you.
Hear the world around you.
Feel the world around you as the one who is experiencing,
Witnessing this play of consciousness.
We'll complete our practice with a quote by Adi Ashanti.
Spiritual awakening is a remembering.
It is not becoming something that we are not.
It is not about transforming ourselves.
It is not about changing ourselves.
It is a remembering of what we are,
As if we'd known it all along and had simply forgotten.
At the moment of this remembering,
If the remembering is authentic,
It's not viewed as a personal thing.
There is really no such thing as a personal awakening,
Because personal would imply separation.
Personal would imply that it is the me or the ego that awakens or becomes enlightened.
May we remember in our oneness,
In the grace of life,
The grace of our unity,
The light of love.
I love you.
