Have you ever started a project with great fervor only to lose enthusiasm down the road? Resistance is insidious because it's not always conscious, but it can quietly sabotage our life goals. In fact, we often subconsciously resist what we truly want. Thus, we can benefit from releasing resistance at any point along our spiritual journey.

I invite you to find a comfortable position,

One which allows your body to fully relax and let go.

Allow your shoulders to drop and melt.

Allow your breathing to become fluid and easy.

Finding yourself that meditation isn't about trying to create a particular state,

But a relaxing,

A letting go,

A remembering of the peace that is already here.

Allow awareness to reveal to you now your natural,

Uncontrived state.

Allow yourself to fall into this peace which surpasses all understanding.

I invite you now to think of something in your life that you've been resisting,

Or you can simply think of something that you feel you have to do,

That you must do,

Or that it's imperative that you do.

And notice what that feels like inside.

Allow yourself to welcome the sensations that make up this feeling of resistance,

As well as the pictures and the sounds.

And then,

As best as you can,

Just for now,

Could you allow that resistance to dissolve?

Could you set it free as best as you can?

And then,

As best as you can,

Could you simply welcome or allow what is in this moment?

And focus on that same thing or anything else in this moment that you're resisting,

Something you feel you should or shouldn't do.

And could you welcome that feeling of resistance and the sensations,

Sounds,

And pictures that it brings up?

And then,

As best as you can,

Could you simply let it go?

Could you set it free as best as you can?

And then,

In this moment,

Could you simply allow it?

Could you welcome it and accept it as it is?

Again,

Focus on that same thing or anything else in this moment that you're resisting.

And could you welcome that feeling of resistance and all the sensations,

Pictures,

And sounds that it evokes?

And then,

Could you just set that free?

Could you let it go as best as you can?

And then,

As best as you can,

Just for now,

Could you allow yourself to accept or welcome or allow what is to be?

If your mind is saying,

I can't or I won't,

Acknowledge that that's simply more resistance.

And it doesn't help to get rid of the problem.

It actually causes it to stay in place.

Allow yourself to focus on that same thing or anything else in your life where you've been feeling resistant,

Where you've been shitting on yourself or struggling more than you need to.

And could you welcome that feeling of resistance?

And then,

Could you let it go?

Could you set it free as best as you can?

That doesn't mean that you're stuck with it.

You're stuck with it now to the degree that you're resisting it.

So could you simply allow what is to be?

Could you simply accept what is to the best of your ability in this moment?

I will now read through a list of resistance synonyms and ask you to notice what feelings they evoke inside,

Battling,

Defiance,

Fighting,

Protecting,

Refusing,

Struggling,

Defying,

And averting.

Simply notice what you're feeling inside.

Could you welcome that feeling of resistance?

And just for now,

As best as you can,

Could you let that feeling of resistance go?

Would you let that feeling of resistance go?

And when?

You still feel yourself holding on,

Consider now whether you'd rather resist what you're feeling or feel lighter and freer.

Now focus on any remaining resistance as we practice a holistic release.

Could you welcome the feeling of resistance now as best as you can?

And could you welcome the peace,

Acceptance,

And flow that is here now?

Could you welcome again the feeling of resistance?

And could you welcome the feeling of acceptance,

Peace,

And flow?

Could you welcome resistance?

And could you welcome acceptance,

Peace,

And flow?

Could you welcome resistance?

And could you welcome acceptance,

Peace,

And flow?

And in this moment,

Could you allow yourself to notice the acceptance,

Peace,

And flow that is already here?

May you be well.

May you be at peace.
