Hey friends,
Happy day 31 of Lent.
To begin,
I invite you to close your eyes,
Relax your body,
Quiet your mind,
Be still,
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,
And embrace a spirit of peace and loving-kindness.
For this meditation,
We're going to explore the symbolism attached to a specific hand posture.
The hand posture is called the Gyan Mudra,
So I invite you to connect your thumbs and pointer fingers of each hand,
Making a circle with each hand.
Allow the other three fingers of each hand to remain open and natural.
Sometimes people like to sit in a cross-legged posture with this hand position,
With their hands resting on their knees or legs.
Others like to just have their hands suspended at their sides.
Whatever feels comfortable and natural to you.
Now,
Let's talk about the symbolism of this hand posture.
The circles of each hand represent the Infinite,
The Eternal,
God.
The connections between the thumbs and the pointer fingers represent our connection to the Infinite and Eternal God.
That connection to the Infinite Love inside us all.
The other three fingers,
The open,
Relaxed fingers,
Represent a couple things.
They are a symbol of receiving,
Receiving whatever God has for you.
And they also represent letting go,
Letting go of anything that hinders our connection to God and to others.
Connected to God,
Receiving from God,
Letting go of anything that hinders connection to God.
Let's spend a few moments to simply be with God,
To be connected.
Thank you for sharing this tender,
Sacred moment with me today,
My friends.
May grace and peace,
Connection,
Light,
And love be with you.
