Alright guys,
I've got an excellent mental fitness exercise for you today.
It's all about conscious conversation.
So when you're in a conversation today with someone and they're speaking,
I want you to give them your undivided attention.
Call it the lost art of courtesy,
If you will.
If your phone rings or chimes with a message,
Don't answer it.
In fact,
Don't even look at it unless you're reaching for it to put it on silent and apologize to whoever is speaking for the interruption.
When that person is talking,
Be fully engaged.
Recognize how they are speaking,
Their energy,
Their own excitement level and what they are talking about.
Do a little comprehension exercise,
Picking up the key points in the conversation to revisit with a question or comment later.
Not only does this act as a mental fitness exercise,
But it's also an act of free kindness,
Showing the other person that you were totally involved in the conversation.
