This is your space to wind down after a stressful day.
Let's recognize together that if we don't take the time to release some of that stress that can build up,
Then we can just carry it into our evening or we can bring it home with us.
It can continue to affect us once we're home or have a ripple effect on the people around us and all of that is perfectly normal.
It can happen at the best of times but this is you giving yourself space to unwind and to release the day.
So just noticing how you're coming into this practice.
Has the day been particularly stressful?
Has it been kind of okay but it's definitely had its moments?
Or has it actually been an okay day but you can just feel your body's feeling tense,
Your body's feeling tight,
You're struggling to feel like you can switch off.
All is welcome here,
Just take this as some body awareness and self-awareness.
When you're ready,
I invite you to close your eyes,
Find a comfy space and let's start to go inwards.
So again,
Tuning into the feelings that are going on,
Just noticing as soon as you come inwards,
Noticing how am I feeling,
How am I doing and we're just getting curious at where we might be holding the stress.
So getting curious at whether you're holding it in your shoulders,
Your back,
Just noticing how the body feels.
And then I want you to see if you can take a really deep breath in and when you're ready allowing your breath to exhale all the way out.
And doing this a few times to allow the body to release and to relax.
I want you to imagine as you're breathing,
You're gathering up all the attention of the day,
Anything that's got stagnant or stuck or hovering around your energy field or hovering around your body just to be released out as you breathe.
Gather up the stress,
Gather up the tension and let it go.
I want you to recognize that you are safe now,
You're good.
Sometimes when we're feeling stress in our day,
We can almost feel like we're not okay,
Like we're not safe,
We can feel so on edge and let's just recognize together the day is over.
You're safe,
You're all okay,
You're good and even if things are unresolved from today,
You have permission right now to start to unwind and to switch off.
You are human and you cannot be on the go all the time.
You are not expected to be perfect or to have every day go perfectly right.
Things happen and that's okay,
This is simply your permission to let it go and to give yourself some much needed compassion.
So as you're breathing,
See if you can soften your shoulders and I want you to imagine that you've been carrying all day long a really heavy backpack and this backpack has been filled with all of those stressful moments,
All of those worries and as you're coming into your evening,
This is your permission to take that bag off.
Simply take it off your shoulders and allow yourself to place it on the floor or just drop it completely,
Whatever you need to do,
It does not belong here right now.
And then we're going to do the same now around the head area,
So let's imagine all those thoughts have been buzzing around and we're going to just imagine almost like a vacuum or a hoover just at the top of the head and we're going to just imagine it lifting in the most gentle of ways all of those unnecessary thoughts,
Lifting them off and allowing them to let go and feel your whole body soften as you let go of things that are not needed.
And well done,
Take a few more breathes here visualizing yourself letting go.
Remember that every day really is the chance for a new beginning and a fresh start and even if you don't feel it in this very moment,
Don't underestimate how much a good night's sleep and a new beginning,
A fresh day can bring.
You don't have to have it all figured out right now,
You don't have to have all the answers.
Allow yourself permission to go into your evening or into sleep in a way where you reset your body in a way where you're not carrying all of that stress and all of those worries.
Tapping back into the body now,
Noticing how it feels since you've released some of that.
When you're ready just starting to bring your awareness back now even more so into the physical body and blinking your eyes open when you're ready to or if you're ready to fall into sleep then allowing yourself to drift off.
Tomorrow is a new start,
A fresh beginning,
Come back to this anytime you need to wind down after a stressful day.
