Welcome into this deep Sleep meditation.
To allow yourself to unclench unwind.
And to let go as you drift into sleep.
So often we go about our day holding,
Clenching,
Tightening and it makes it difficult to drift off to sleep when we feel so tight and we're still holding.
This is your chance to let all of that go.
So letting yourself just settle into your bed.
Allowing your mattress to support your body to do its job.
So that you don't have to hold and you begin to realise that there is nothing you need to do Nothing to be figured out.
This is your time to unwind.
How good it feels to finally have space in your day to unwind to have several hours stretched out ahead of you.
Space just for you and as you take slow Gentle breaths.
See if you can allow yourself to bit by bit release your day.
Creating space on the inhale space on the exhale.
With each breath you take you're creating more and more space you beginning to soften now your face no longer needing to hold here.
All the muscles around your face beginning to relax to unwind.
And doing the same now with your jaw.
Unclenching.
Unwinding.
You let your teeth part slightly.
Giving a little space between the upper and lower teeth.
And you let your tongue rest gently in your mouth.
Bringing it away from the roof of your mouth No more holding,
No more tension.
Nothing needed from you now.
You don't need to force this relaxation in your jaw you might just simply imagine that your jaw is no longer carrying a to-do list is no longer bracing And how it would like to respond to that is your jaw,
Your muscles choice.
The natural response may be to Unwind.
You notice the muscles now around your mouth You allow your cheeks to become heavy.
How good that feels to allow your cheeks to become heavy allowing your eyes to rest your forehead to smooth out.
And so naturally your shoulders drop away from your ears and so naturally your hands start to soften and so naturally your stomach eases And with every breath out you imagine your body receiving this message that it no longer needs to brace.
No more pushing,
No more doing.
You have done enough.
Is safe to no longer hold for the night It's safe to unwind.
It is safe to let go.
And imagining now in your mind's eye as you lie here a beautiful peaceful stretch of water And as you look at this water It's evening.
The sky is soft you notice those last colors of the day,
Those sunset colors and the air is so warm against your skin.
Everything around you is so quiet and the water moves slowly towards the shore then gently draws back again There is nothing hurried about it.
There is nothing forced.
It feels timeless.
And this water knows how to move.
It knows how to return.
And knows how to let things go.
You notice how this water does not lose its power by letting things go,
By releasing in fact it makes it even more powerful Such a powerful body of water.
That has the ability to push.
And then to let go.
As you watch this water moving each wave inviting you to soften more and more like it's whispering to you it's safe to soften it's safe to soften it does not make you weak to soften it makes you so strong Releasing more and more tension allowing the water to do its magic.
To inspire you.
To guide you imagining perhaps everything you've been holding in your jaw,
In your face,
In your muscles the expectations So this is Julie.
And just imagining placing all of that beside you can you allow the evening tide to wash gently around them?
To let them go.
You feel this water refreshing,
Renewing you get to choose if you want to leave all of those expectations or to-do lists or worries until tomorrow or to let them disappear altogether.
The choice is yours.
Either way they don't need to be carried into the rest of your night thinking deeper and deeper now into your bed That visual of the water becoming softer now and the colours growing dimmer.
And letting these words wash gently over you I am allowed to let go of the day I don't need to hold everything together I don't need to be on guard tonight.
My jaw can soften my tongue can rest My muscles do not need to hold my worries.
My shoulders don't need to carry the weight of the world.
I can release what I no longer need.
I can stop trying so hard I can let things be unfinished I can leave unanswered questions until tomorrow I don't need to replay every conversation I don't need to prepare for every possibility.
I don't need you to solve anything while I sleep.
My body is allowed to rest even when life is imperfect.
My mind is allowed to become quiet.
I can soften without losing control I can let go without everything falling apart.
I don't have to clench to keep myself safe.
I don't have to stay tense to stay prepared.
I trust myself to meet tomorrow when it comes I can unclench I can unwind.
I can let go It feels so good to let go.
To loosen.
There's no reason to hold I don't need to work anything out right now I don't need to do anything else today Feels so good to rest It feels so good to soften My jaw feels loose and soft my face feels warm and soft My whole body feels warm,
Soft and safe.
Everything else awaits and I know it the bed holds me My breath holds me,
Moves me and helps me release.
Letting go becomes so natural to me My muscles feeling soft feel so natural to me.
My muscles feeling loose feels so natural to me I surrender more and more and it feels so good.
I unclench,
Unwind,
I let go.
I rest I am allowed to let go of the day I don't need to hold everything together I don't need to be on guard tonight.
