Come to this relaxation practice every time you can feel tension has built up in your jaw We're going to consciously allow the jaw to relax.
To allow your body to feel the ease and to fill that in your whole system So finding a comfortable position You can see this with your eyes open or your eyes closed.
And just taking some gentle breaths as you settle in.
And just bringing your attention to your face not feeling like you need to force anything or even change anything just yet Simply noticing how your jaw feels bringing in this body awareness connecting and becoming present with this part of your body Maybe noticing if your teeth are touching.
How tight or loose it feels here.
Maybe your tongue is pressed against the roof of your mouth.
There might be tension in your cheeks or your temples,
Your eyebrows Who's your breathing showing up with compassion here?
No frustration towards yourself We're seeing if we can let any forcing go here.
It's so natural to hold the jaw,
To tense the jaw throughout the day it's so common that that builds up so it's not that you're doing anything wrong this is your time to allow it to soften to begin to let go.
So maybe just beginning by allowing.
A little space between your upper and lower teeth.
Apps creating a gap there.
Or if there already was a gap widening slightly the gap between your upper and lower teeth.
Letting go of that need to hold or control and realizing your teeth no longer need to touch allowing your lips to rest gently together and allow your mouth to fall slightly open if that feels more comfortable Guiding your tongue away from the roof of your mouth and just letting it rest letting it soften.
Recognizing that there is nothing you need to hold together there's nothing you're bracing for or need to brace for and that you have space to breathe slowly as your jaw softens can you just gently bring your attention to your cheeks.
Giving them space to soften too to release that bracing,
That holding.
The relief that you don't need to focus on your expression or your communication to others this is your space and it's your space for your face,
Your jaw,
Your cheeks to completely loosen and to be at ease taking a moment now if you feel called to to just gently massage,
Rub or hold any point around your jaw that would feel good to give that touch to might find yourself making small circular motions around your jaw using your hands your fingertips Gently guiding and encouraging your jaw to soften more and more.
And if it feels good you can bring that massage all the way down your neck and allowing yourself to just gently massage your neck anywhere that needs softening.
I can allow my tongue to soften.
I can allow the muscles around my mouth to soften I'm gonna let my face rest I don't need to force or brace noticing that tension and noticing how it feels to massage that tension out Noticing where on your jaw and your face feels particularly good today to massage.
It might be right at the back of your neck,
It might be more central around your jaw where it feels good.
I am not in charge of everything nor do i need to be holding and responsible for everything I can let go.
I can let go.
I can let go.
Taking your time now.
If your eyes were closed,
You blink your eyes open.
Resting your hands,
Your fingertips if you were massaging your jaw there and bringing them back to a comfortable place Checking back in now with how your jaw is feeling.
Noticing where that tension has released and hopefully you can take this relaxation now into the rest of your day or evening and anytime that tension builds up in your jaw come back to this empowering practice where you can self-soothe,
Self-massage and visualize your jaw releasing tension I'm Scarlet,
Come back to this anytime you need
