Good morning,
It's time to do the morning meditation.
So in order to do your practice,
I'll invite you to sit up nice and tall on your bed or on your yoga mat.
It's also OK to sit on a chair with your feet resting firmly on the ground so early in the morning.
And this is the best time to spend a few minutes with your breath grounding the body,
Stabilizing the mind and reposing in your breath.
Begin the practice today by just becoming comfortable.
Allow your eyes to close ever so gently.
And if you want,
You can do a few stretches with your body.
And once you feel comfortable,
Let your body come to a place of center stillness.
Hands resting in your lap or on your thighs.
Just a few minutes of conscious,
Mindful breathing in the morning can set you up for a day of success,
A day of peace and a day filled with joy.
So let go of anything that you need to accomplish today.
Release your to do lists.
Let go of the night that has just gone by.
So with a gentle smile on the face,
Take a deep breath in,
Fill your whole body.
As you exhale,
Sigh it out.
Good.
Once again,
Breathing in,
Fill your whole body,
Breathing out,
Sigh it out.
One final time.
Breathe in.
Exhale,
Sigh,
Let it go.
And now allow your breath to come back to its natural rhythm.
Perhaps resting your attention right underneath your nostrils.
Noticing the amazing wonder that your breath is.
So many people did not get an opportunity to witness the day to day.
But you did.
So breathe in gratitude.
Breathe out relaxation.
And then shift your awareness down to your chest.
And as you inhale,
Expand your chest.
Let your heart shine forward.
As you exhale,
Relax your chest.
Let go of anything that is holding you down.
And then shift your awareness down to your belly.
As you breathe in,
Let your entire belly expand.
Hold your breath for just a moment.
And as you breathe out,
Relax all the muscles of your stomach.
Letting the internal organs rest.
Think about your intention for today.
How would you like to feel during the day?
Let the emotion of your choice surface up in your mind.
Happiness,
Joy,
Peace,
Excitement.
And then bring to your mind an image of you feeling this emotion.
Invite this image to become real for you in your body in this moment.
So think to yourself,
What would it be like for me to feel this emotion in this very moment?
How would I hold my body if I was feeling joyful and peaceful?
And then sit up just a little bit taller.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Now think of any one person or thing that you feel grateful for this morning.
Could be a loved one,
Your home,
Your job.
Your pet.
And as you exhale,
Send loving energy towards this being that brings a sense of joy to your heart.
And finally,
Think to yourself,
What is the one action that I can take today that will help me experience my intention?
What is one thing that I can do that will help me feel my desired emotion?
And as you exhale,
Relax even more.
