Grounded, Grateful, Intentional (Morning Meditation)

This morning meditation will allow you to get grounded, feel gratitude, and set your intention for the day. Before jumping into the day and being there for other people, take time to be there for yourself and connect with yourself.

Good morning,

Dear one.

Let's start a day with grounding,

Gratitude,

Intention setting,

And before connecting with the world,

Let's connect with ourselves.

Please find a comfortable seated position,

Either sitting cross-legged or sitting on your heels.

Lengthen your spine.

Roll your shoulders back a couple of times to open the chest.

Rest your hands on your knees and gently close your eyes.

Begin to inhale deeply through your nose and imagine you're pulling the inhale from the ground through your sits bones,

Through your spine,

All the way up to the crown of your head,

Growing a little bit taller as you breathe in.

Exhale through your mouth,

Sending your breath back to your sits bones,

To the ground.

From there,

Again,

Breathing in from the ground through the spine,

All the way upwards,

Growing a bit taller still.

Releasing your exhale.

One more deep breath in,

Inhaling from the ground through the spine up.

Allow to exhale through your mouth,

Release and let go.

Close your mouth and continue to breathe through your nose,

Allowing your inhales and exhales to come and go effortlessly and with ease.

Take a moment to become aware of the room that you're in.

Notice the sounds that you can hear.

Notice the scents that you can smell with your nose.

Be aware of your body in the room.

Seat it.

Notice the points,

The areas where your body connects with the ground,

Connects with the floor.

Feel the weight of your body pressing against the ground.

Feel the gravity pull you down and help you to create a beautiful,

Stable and safe sense of grounding.

Just like a tree can grow tall because of its strong and deep roots,

Allow yourself to send your roots deeper into the ground as you exhale now.

Press your sitz bones deeply into the ground and that will help you to grow taller through the spine.

Feel the crown of your head reach up as you ground deeply,

Creating a lot of space in the body.

Allow this to remind you that you're right here,

Right now,

In this very moment,

Grounded and safe and stable,

Remembering who you are and what you stand for.

Pay attention to your breath.

Notice how it moves with ease and quite naturally through your body.

It feels like a stroke on the inside.

It feels like a hug from within.

It brings warmth and ease and perhaps it even allows you to begin to feel a little bit of gratitude.

Feel gratitude for your breath,

For your body,

For yourself,

For this brand new day filled with opportunities.

This day is a gift and there's so much to celebrate.

So let's start this day by saying thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

From a place of a grateful heart,

Choose your intention for this day.

What kind of energy do you want to bring forth?

And what kind of attitude do you want to meet the events of the day?

How do you want to carry yourself?

How do you want to feel?

Intentions are about who you want to be,

What you want to contribute to the world and how you choose to touch the lives of others.

Take a moment to let your intention come forward.

What is your intention for the day?

An intention is not just a mental concept,

It's not in the mind.

Most importantly,

We carry our intentions in the heart.

Take a moment to notice how does your intention make you feel?

How do you want to feel throughout the day?

See if you can imagine this feeling vividly.

See if you can feel the feeling in your body.

With your inhale,

Let this feeling grow stronger.

Let it become more vivid.

If it was a color,

If this feeling was a color,

It would be getting brighter and brighter now.

If this feeling was music,

It would be getting louder and louder now.

Allow this feeling,

This intention to fill up your whole heart.

Let it fill up your whole body,

Your mind and your soul so that you carry it with yourself throughout the day and no matter what you encounter,

No matter what obstacles and challenges you meet,

You have your intention with you.

How do you want to feel?

Feel it right now.

With your intention safely stored in your heart and in your mind and in your body,

Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath.

Exhale to create expansion.

Exhale to relax.

Your breath helping you to connect back with the body,

The physical body and the room around you.

Take a deep breath in and a loud exhale.

Bring your hands together in front of your heart,

Bow your head down to your heart to say one more thank you.

You're grounded,

You're grateful and you're ready to live this day with intention.
