Hamsa is a Sanskrit term that translates to I am that.

It is a profound mantra representing the oneness of the individual soul or Atman with the universal consciousness or Brahman.

The combination of Ham and Sa in the Hamsa mantra carries a deep significance.

Ham represents the individual self while Sa represents the universal reality.

Through the repetition of this mantra we are acknowledging and embodying the interconnectedness of our individual existence with a greater cosmic consciousness.

Please find a comfortable and relaxed seated position.

Close your eyes gently and allow yourself to turn inwards.

Take a couple of deep breaths to settle into the present moment.

Inhaling through the nose,

Exhaling through the mouth.

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Breathing in and letting go.

Slowly close your mouth and continue to breathe through your nose.

As you breathe,

Bring your attention to the natural flow of your breath.

Feel the inhalation and exhalation,

The rise and fall of your chest or the gentle expansion and contraction of your abdomen.

On the inhalation,

Silently begin to repeat the sound Ham and on the exhalation,

Silently repeat the sound Sa,

Ham on the inhale,

Sa on the exhale,

Ham,

Sa,

Sa,

Ham,

Sa,

Sa,

Ham,

Sa.

Continue to repeat the mantra with the rhythm of your breath.

Allow the sounds to be a gentle and harmonious vibration within you,

Resonating with the natural rhythm of your breath.

As you continue the mantra,

Let it create a sense of balance and unity within,

Ham representing the incoming breath and Sa representing the outgoing breath,

Like a continuous flow of life force.

Visualize the mantra as a radiant light expanding with each breath.

Imagine this light filling your entire being,

Purifying and energizing you on every level,

Physical,

Mental and spiritual.

If your mind starts to wander,

Gently bring it back to the mantra and let the repetition be a focal point,

Anchoring you in the present moment.

As you immerse yourself in the Hamsa mantra,

Feel a deepening sense of inner peace and connection.

Sense the vibration of the mantra resonating with the universal energy that flows through you.

Continue this practice for a few more minutes,

Allowing the mantra to become a sacred thread weaving through the fabric of your consciousness.

As the meditation comes to a close,

Gradually release the repetition of the Hamsa mantra.

Take a few moments to sit in the stillness and bask in the afterglow of the practice.

Begin to deepen your breath,

Making your next inhale longer than the one before,

Exhaling through the mouth,

Breathing in,

Letting go,

Inhale and exhale.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Bringing the tranquility of the Hamsa mantra meditation with you into the rest of your day.

May the resonance of Ham and Sa continue to guide you towards inner harmony and awareness.

I thank you for practicing with me and I'll see you in the next class.
