Receptivity is the art of being open, not closed off from, the gifts, opportunities, and positive energy of the Universe. In this meditation, we will enter into a receptive state to encourage your spirit to accept the gifts, opportunities, and positive energy that it so deeply yearns for and deserves. Using our attention and our breathing, we will shift our energy from outward, to inward, and in doing so, become open to all the good things that are ours to receive.

Receptivity is the art of being open,

Not closed off from the gifts,

Opportunities,

And positive energy of the universe.

When we are busy,

Distracted,

And stressed,

We cannot simultaneously be receptive.

Much of our lives are spent in an outward direction,

Doing and thinking.

Receptivity is the art of turning inward.

Today we will enter into a receptive state to encourage your spirit to accept the gifts,

Opportunities,

And positive energy that it so deeply yearns for and deserves.

Using our attention and our breathing,

We will shift our energy from outward to inward,

And in doing so,

Become open to all the good things that are ours to receive.

Start by finding a comfortable seat,

Or feel free to lay down.

Take your time getting comfortable,

Adjust your body as needed.

Please make sure your spine is straight and relaxed.

Open your palms in your lap or at your sides.

When you're ready,

Close your eyes,

Begin to focus inward on your breath.

Take some deep breaths in through the nose and then sigh audibly out the mouth on the exhale.

Breathe in through the nose deeply and sigh out the mouth.

With each inhalation,

Carry in fresh air and energy to your body.

With each exhalation,

Release the stress,

Busyness,

And outward frenzy of your day.

Release any interactions,

Activities,

And thoughts of the outside world.

Inhaling through the nose and sighing out the mouth.

With each exhalation,

Feel your body emptying out,

Becoming clear.

Breathing through the nose and sighing out the mouth.

With each exhalation,

Feel more space being made within you.

Now take a minute to examine your body.

Where in your body does it feel tight?

Where is any tension being held?

Focus your breathing on these tight and tense areas.

Use each audible exhale,

Each sigh out the mouth to release any held tightness or tension.

Take a few moments now to scan your body and intentionally release through your exhales any tightness or tension.

Beautiful.

Now bring your awareness to your heart chakra space,

Your upper chest below your collarbones.

Take some deep expansive breaths in and out through the nose into your heart space,

Your upper chest.

With each inhale,

Feel your chest expanding.

You may wish to roll your shoulders back to create more space.

Each inhalation,

Carry more fresh cleansing light energy into your heart space.

Each inhalation,

Feel your rib cage expanding to allow more fresh cleansing light energy into your heart space.

Inhaling deeply into the upper chest.

Now take a moment to notice the state of your heart.

How is your heart space feeling today?

Just examine any sensations that arise non-judgmentally.

If you feel lingering tension or tightness in your heart,

This is completely natural.

To exist in today's world,

Our heart protects us with natural energetic barriers.

In order to be receptive,

We must open our hearts.

Breathing deeply into your heart space,

Allow any walls or barriers to gently fall away.

On each inhalation,

Carry up soft healing light to your heart space.

Tell your heart that it is safe to feel and safe to open.

On each exhalation,

Allow any walls or barriers around the heart to gently crumble and fall away.

You may like to envision an actual stone wall around your heart,

The stones gently rolling away as you breathe into your heart space.

Take the next few moments to continue to soften and open your heart with your breathing and with your intention.

Now bring your attention to your crown chakra,

The very top of your head.

When we open our crown chakra,

We can receive all the blessings from the universe.

Breathing deeply,

Envision your crown chakra softening and opening.

See that there is a beautiful column of golden light above your crown.

With each inhalation,

Soften and open your crown chakra.

With each exhalation,

Feel the column of beautiful golden light drawing closer to the crown of your head.

Inhaling softening and opening your crown chakra.

Exhaling,

Drawing the light down closer to your head.

Inhaling,

Softening and opening your crown.

Exhaling,

Drawing the light down closer to your head.

Beautiful.

Now come to an easeful,

Natural breath.

Now in your heart space,

Envision there sits a beautiful golden bowl.

The bowl is wide and deep.

Take a few minutes to envision this beautiful wide deep bowl that sits in your heart space.

See that this bowl is open,

Empty and ready to be filled.

With each inhalation,

Feel the bowl becoming bigger,

Wider and more open.

With your breath,

You will now bring down light from the beautiful column of light above your crown chakra.

With each inhalation,

Reach your energy up to your crown chakra and invite the golden light to enter your body.

With each exhalation,

Draw down the golden light and see it settling into the golden bowl in your heart.

Each inhale,

Open up your entire self to receive the light from the heavens through your crown chakra.

With each exhale,

Carry the light down through your body and allow it to settle into the golden bowl that sits in your heart space.

Breathing in,

Open your crown to the light.

Breathing out,

Carry the light down into your bowl.

Breathe to fill your bowl with light.

Continue this practice,

Carrying the golden light down with your breath through the crown chakra until your golden bowl is completely full to the top.

Breathing in,

Open your crown to the light.

Breathing out,

Carry the light down into your bowl,

Filling up your bowl.

Inhaling,

Opening your crown to the light.

Exhaling,

Carrying the light down to fill your bowl.

Take the next few moments to continue breathing down the beautiful golden light into your bowl,

Focusing on this until your bowl is completely full to the top.

Take a moment to notice your body,

Envision the golden light from your crown pouring down around your entire body.

Surround yourself with the light.

Let the light pour through every crack and crevice.

Let the light permeate your skin,

Your muscles,

Your bones.

Let the light permeate each and every one of your cells.

Allow yourself to fill your body up with this beautiful golden light.

See yourself surrounded by the light.

You may envision yourself situated within an orb,

Column,

Or sphere of light.

Feel yourself completely enveloped.

Breathing in and out,

Enjoy that feeling of being enveloped by beautiful golden healing light from the heavens.

Now begin to return to a gentle,

Natural breath in and out through the nose.

Feel your body resting on the chair,

The floor,

Whatever surface you are being supported by.

Take a moment to observe how you feel physically,

Emotionally,

Mentally.

Feel any new or continued sensations in the body.

When you are ready,

Start to make some subtle movements,

Maybe wiggling the fingers and toes,

Rolling the neck.

Now rub your hands together,

Creating some friction and warmth.

Place your hands over your eyelids.

Send some of that beautiful golden light that you brought into your body to your eyelids through your hands.

Now place your hands over your heart,

One on top of the other.

Breathe deeply into your heart and set an intention for openness,

For receptivity.

Allow yourself to continue to exist in this beautiful receptive state for some or all of your day or evening.

If you like,

You may again envision your golden bowl of light before you go to sleep tonight.

This will allow the energy of today's meditation to continue working with you in your sleep.
