Welcome to this meditation to start your day with self-love and compassion.
I'm Saras Rencroche and I'll be your guide today.
I'm recording this meditation on a cloudy December day from my home office in Switzerland.
This is your time to nurture your inner well-being and embrace the day with kindness toward yourself.
Let's begin.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position.
It can be seated or lying down with your hands resting gently in your lap or at your side.
If it feels safe,
You can gently close your eyes now or maybe you have already.
Now take a deep breath in through your nose,
Feeling your lungs expand fully.
Hold it for a moment and now exhale slowly through your mouth releasing any tension or judgment.
Take another deep breath in and this time imagine you're breathing in love and kindness towards yourself.
Hold it briefly and as you exhale let go of any self-criticism or negativity and just allow yourself to be present with a gentle and compassionate open heart.
Let's start by bringing your attention to your body.
Notice how it feels today as you take this time to care for yourself.
Let's start at the top of your head and scan down through your body softening any areas of tension.
So relax your forehead,
Your brow and all the tiny muscles around your eyes.
Let your jaw unclench and your shoulders drop away from your ears.
Feel your chest rise and fall gently with your breath.
Now soften your belly and feel how your arms and hands get heavier and heavier and heavier.
And now allow the relaxation to flow down your legs all the way to your toes.
And just feel your body supported,
At ease and open to receive love and compassion.
Now imagine yourself in a peaceful sanctuary,
A place that feels safe and nurturing to you.
Maybe it's a warm sunlit garden,
Your cozy room,
Or another quiet corner in nature.
This sanctuary is your space,
Filled with unconditional love and acceptance.
As you stand or sit in this space,
Gently place your hands over your heart and whisper silently or aloud,
I see you,
I accept you,
I love you,
I love you as you are.
Feel this love spreading from your heart to every part of your being,
Washing away self-judgment and filling you with warmth and care.
Know that you are worthy of love,
Not because of what you do,
But simply because you are.
Take another deep breath and as you exhale silently,
Repeat the following affirmations after me,
I treat myself today and every day with kindness and compassion.
I am enough just as I am.
I am not a person,
I am enough just as I am.
I choose to love myself unconditionally.
I begin my day with self-love and peace.
Really feel these affirmations settling into your heart,
Becoming your truth for the day ahead.
And now think of one small act of self-kindness you can offer yourself today.
It could be taking a moment to rest,
Speaking gently to yourself when no one is looking,
Or doing something that brings you joy.
Just let this act be a reminder of the compassion you're cultivating in this moment.
Take one more deep breath in,
Filling your body with a sense of warmth and love.
And really feel the energy of self-compassion radiating within you,
Steady and uplifting as you prepare to step into your day.
But before you do,
Just enjoy this moment of stillness and self-love you've created,
Holding you gently and preparing you to move through the day with care and confidence.
And now bring your awareness back to your breath and let your body breathe for you with no effort whatsoever.
And when you feel ready,
You can gently open your eyes wiggle your fingers and toes and then carry the sense of self-love and compassion with you as you move through your day.
