Greetings,
Friends,
And welcome.
Welcome to this seasonal journey with the Kitchen Witch and her garden.
An invitation,
Perhaps,
To pause in the year,
To notice the natural world around you,
And take a short and sweet journey somewhere in between meditation and story and reflection.
These little in-between places are where we may find a little magic,
Perhaps.
So as always,
Take your time.
We're going to take just ten minutes out of our day,
And and I will guide you through a few ideas,
Images,
Reflections on,
Perhaps,
How the Kitchen Witch's garden may appear to us in this season.
Close your eyes and rest,
Dear one,
For you have travelled far through the seasons and through the year.
Imbolc is here.
The quickening of the year brings the first beautiful blooms in soft milk tones of whites,
Yellows and creams,
Snowdrops,
Primroses and daffodils.
Sometimes they must make their way bravely through snowdrifts to bloom.
Root vegetables and brassicas may still be in the vegetable garden.
Leeks,
Cabbages,
Kale and sprouts,
And herbs of rosemary and bay.
And one may enjoy looking forward to the year ahead by sowing seeds indoors.
This is also a time to enjoy pancakes with cream,
Milk and butter,
Particularly delicious on cold February days.
Enjoy with stewed apples and primrose flowers,
Golden treats that can brighten the grey skies we may see this month.
You may wish,
This Imbolc,
To plant both seeds and intentions.
February is still winter,
Often cold and grey,
But within this time is a stirring,
Like seeds in the deep,
Dark earth.
A distant glimmer,
A spark on the horizon.
We can plant a seed at Imbolc,
We can make our plans for the coming year,
And with a little care and tending,
These seeds will grow through the growing light to ripen in the summer.
So think,
Perhaps,
About intentions as you prepare to cross the threshold into a new burst of life.
How can you nurture and nourish yourself for the journey?
What seeds are you planting in your own life for the year ahead?
When you feel ready,
We can stretch and move and return to the day.
And I wish you an Imbolc filled with light and with hope.
May all the seeds of your intentions and dreams grow strong as the season moves onwards.
Thank you so much for joining me and I look forward to meeting you again soon.
Thank you,
Blessed be,
And namaste.
