I'm going to guide you through a short meditation to help you gently imagine what you'd like to create next year.

If you've never meditated before don't worry at all there's nothing that you need to do except listen to my voice and follow along.

So if you're sitting comfortably let's begin.

Close your eyes if that feels comfortable.

Take a deep slow breath in and exhale softly.

Notice your body.

Feel the support of the chair or the floor or whatever you're sitting on beneath you.

Let your shoulders soften.

Feel your feet on the floor if you're sitting down and your back against the chair.

Gently start to focus on where your breath enters your nose through your nostrils.

Breathe out slowly and gently.

There's no need to change anything or count just focus gently on the breath coming in and going out and breathing out.

No need to change anything just noticing your breath.

Let your shoulders drop.

Soften the jaw.

Allow your body to just really settle into the chair or the floor.

Now in your mind's eye imagine yourself standing in a calm quiet space.

There's a doorway and the door is slightly agile.

This doorway represents the year that has just passed.

You don't need to replay the year just simply acknowledge it.

The year held moments of growth and moments that were challenging.

Hopefully it held moments of peace and calm and moments of joy.

You can silently thank the year for what it brought you.

You don't need to carry everything with you into next year.

Some things can stay here.

They're completed.

They're finished.

You've understood the lessons.

So when you're ready just imagine gently closing that door behind you.

There's no force,

No rush,

Just a calm intentional closing.

Now in your mind you can turn to face another doorway.

This one represents the year ahead.

If you like you can take a moment to imagine the door.

Imagine its color,

A door handle,

What it's made of,

Whether it's shiny or matte.

Take a moment to really look at it closely and notice how it feels to stand here grounded,

Steady and present on the threshold.

And now bring to mind one or two qualities you'd like to step into this new year with.

Perhaps it's calm.

Maybe it's confidence or clarity.

Or whatever feels right for you.

Let those qualities settle into your body,

Into your breath,

Into your posture.

And when you're ready imagine placing your hand on the handle of this new door.

Feel its solidness beneath your palm.

Take a slow breath in and as you breathe out imagine turning the handle and opening the door,

Stepping forward,

Crossing the threshold and entering the new year.

Now notice how it feels to be here.

Feel the space around you.

Feel the possibility.

Maybe some images will come to mind to see what arises.

There's no hurry.

You allow a quiet sense of calm and confidence to settle within you.

And when you're ready gently bring your awareness back to the room.

And when you're ready you can start to wriggle your fingers and toes and when you're ready open your eyes.

What a beautiful meditation Sally thank you so much. I love the visualizations of gently, closing the door to last year. The idea of seeing a different door for the new year was exciting and fun to create and visually imagine. 💫✨💫✨
