This week I had one of those days where I was just in a bad mood and rationally there was nothing wrong,

It was just the mood and I think sometimes what can happen when you're feeling that way is that we can start to attach thoughts to it and start overthinking,

We can get pulled further into the mood and actually if we just accept that the mood is there but don't dwell on it,

It can dissipate.

Now of course I'm not talking about when you're feeling really low and you need more help or you have kind of consistently low mood but I wanted to record a meditation to just maybe help dissolve and dissipate a temporary state.

So if you'd like to take a seat or lie down however you feel most comfortable,

We'll just do a short meditation on dissolving your bad mood.

So just take a moment to feel your body in the space that you're in.

You can feel your back against the chair or lying on the floor or the bed.

Wherever you've chosen today is absolutely the right place for you to be.

Just gently bring your attention to your breath,

There's no need to change anything,

There's no need to count,

There's no need to do anything other than just focus your attention gently on your breathing in and out.

If it helps you,

You can focus on the cool air coming in through your nostrils or you can focus on the rise and fall of your chest or your stomach.

We're just bringing the attention inwards for a little while.

So maybe you're feeling a bit grumpy,

Everything's a bit bleak,

You're just feeling a bit down in the dumps,

Maybe something's happened to wind you up,

Maybe someone said something or something didn't go to plan today,

Maybe today has not been the day so far.

Carry on breathing,

Breathe in and out.

In and out,

You can imagine almost like a cartoon or a little film,

An animation,

Whatever comes into your head is absolutely fine.

Imagine yourself with a big grey cloud or whatever texture,

Colour that cloud has above your head that represents your mood.

So breathe in and breathe out,

Just take a look at this cloud and feel it,

It's there and that's okay.

Take another deep breath in and a gentle breath out.

Now as you start to look at the cloud,

Can you imagine it just gradually,

Gradually starting to change colour?

Maybe if it's dark grey,

Maybe if it's dark grey,

Just gets a little bit lighter and gradually it's changing shape and little by little parts are starting to dissolve and move and drift away.

Just imagine that cloud is changing colour a bit more,

Maybe the sun is starting to come out and lighten it up,

Maybe the heaviest part of it that's full of rain is drifting away,

Maybe it's gradually turning to a lighter fluffy white.

Just keep watching the clouds and they,

It's in their nature that they change shape and move and drift away.

Maybe by now your cloud is a beautiful cloud,

Or it could be that the sun is rising or setting,

Whichever state you prefer and the colours are changing with the sun and there are pinks and purples and yellow and gold and blue and now your cloud is not heavy and grey,

It's gorgeous,

Beautiful colours.

All the time as you're watching the clouds and the sun is changing shape and grey,

It's gorgeous,

Beautiful colours.

All the time as you're watching the sky above your head,

Pressure is releasing,

It's just gently drifting away.

You're breathing gently,

You're feeling really calm,

And you can gently,

If you start to feel into your body,

Carry on gently and calmly breathing,

You can feel that there's been a change in your body as well,

There's a,

Maybe you're more grounded,

Maybe you're feeling a little lighter.

How can you imagine that the cloud is drifting further,

Further away,

It's just gently dissolving.

Clouds are parted and you can feel sunshine,

It's not,

It's not too hot,

It's just perfect,

Just warming you.

You can turn your face towards it if you like.

Sun is gently beaming down on you,

Just nice and warm.

If you like to feel the breeze,

You can feel the breeze wafting over you gently.

As you look up to the sky,

There are no grey clouds anymore,

They've all gone.

There might be white fluffy ones flitting by gently.

If you're at a,

Looking at a sunset,

Then there could be all sorts of colours.

Feel that sunshine on your face,

Golden rays just gently warming you.

And you can't help but feel calmer,

Lighter,

More peaceful.

Lighter,

More peaceful.

And you notice that the darkness has dissipated,

That you feel warmer.

You feel more at peace with what is.

Maybe you feel happier,

Feel joy and pleasure.

And you just feel your mood has been boosted by the golden sun.

You just keep breathing gently,

Calmly.

And you can stay here as long as you'd like,

Or you can drift off to sleep.

If you need to wake up now and get on with your day,

You can gently bring your attention back to your body,

Wriggle your fingers and toes.

Give a little stretch,

A sigh or a yawn,

Gently feeling much more positive.

Positive and happy and knowing that the mood has passed.

You can bring your attention back into the room,

Start to bat open your eyelids and carry on with your day.

This was truly wonderful. I was in a terrible mood brought on by things that I cannot control and don’t deserve my mental energy. I am releasing it all and the dark cloud is floating away.
