Making yourself comfortable in your bed.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and let it out softly through your mouth and again breathing in letting your body become a little heavier with each breath.
Now in your mind's eye I'd like you to imagine a quiet beach at night.
The sky above is deep indigo scattered with stars that seem to pulse very gently like distant sleeping breath.
You are sitting at the edge of the shore.
The sand beneath you is cool and smooth.
You can feel its solid gentle weight against you,
Grounding you,
Holding you.
The sea is calm.
Very very calm.
The waves are barely more than a whisper.
A soft shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and still,
You can smell the sea,
It feels like it belongs to the very beginning of all things,
You have nothing to do here,
Nowhere to be,
The shore asks nothing of you,
You can simply be,
With each wave that comes in,
Imagine it brings a little more stillness,
And with each wave that goes out,
Imagine it carries away anything that no longer needs your attention tonight,
And out,
You can stay here with the waves as long as you like,
The night is soft,
And sleep will come,
Just let yourself drift,
