There are days when your heart feels heavy. It is filled with emotions, it is tender, it needs to be listened to. This grounding meditation will help you lean into yourself more, relax and connect with the messages that your heart is telling you today.

Hi,

My name is Alex and I'll guide you today through this heart opening meditation where we let go of any heaviness and unnecessary emotions that might be weighing us down.

When you're ready,

Get yourself comfortable.

You can choose to sit in a chair,

Cross-legged on a meditation cushion or the floor,

Or you may choose to lay down.

Grab a blanket if you feel cold or need some extra comfort.

Make yourself as comfortable as possible.

Let yourself melt into the heaviness that you feel in your body.

Take a long,

Deep inhale and a slow exhale.

Close your eyes if you feel safe in doing so.

You may also choose to focus on a spot right in front of your eyes or somewhere in your lap.

Relax your gaze and let it fade away.

Place your hands on your heart and connect with the emotions that are flowing through every beat.

Notice any patterns in the rhythm of your heart and the vibration of your breath.

Feel anything that your heart might be trying to tell you today.

Embrace it with an open mind and get curious as to what's here for you today.

Do so without any judgment,

Without any sorrow or sadness.

Just observe without attaching yourself to any feelings or memories that might come up.

Remind yourself of what is and what isn't,

What's true and what's driven by emotions.

Connect with the voice inside of your heart.

Ask yourself,

What is my heart telling me today?

Take a deep,

Long inhale through your nose and a deep,

Long exhale through your nose.

Feel your breath through your fingertips as your hand rests on your heart.

Feel the vibration of the life inside of you.

Your soul connecting with your rational mind,

Giving you messages and signals about what you might need today.

Continue breathing deeply through your nose through your nose and exhaling through your nose.

On your next inhale,

Feel the air traveling all the way down from the bottom of your feet all the way up into your lungs.

And on your exhale,

Feel the air traveling down from your throat all the way down into the bottom of your feet,

Rooting you in the ground underneath you.

With each inhale and exhale,

The roots are growing deeper,

Bringing you more stability and safety.

Feel yourself relax into your body,

Sinking deeper,

Letting your legs take all the weight and feeling the grounding sensation of your breath rooting you deeper and deeper.

Notice how it feels to surrender to your body,

To let go and relax all of your muscles.

Feel the area around your eyes soften.

Feel your cheeks and your forehead relax.

Feel your jaw unclenching and your tongue resting at the bottom of your mouth.

Feel your shoulders melt into your back and your abdomen relaxing into your pelvis.

Feel your hips opening up and giving way to your tense muscles around your legs.

Feel all 10 of your toes spreading wide,

Giving you a sense of stability and ease.

Take a long deep inhale and a long exhale.

And continue inhaling and exhaling.

Imagine every inhale coming all the way down from the bottom of your roots all the way up to your throat.

And on every exhale,

Imagine all of your sorrow,

Sadness,

And any stagnant energy leaving your body just like the air that you're breathing out.

With every exhale,

Your sorrow,

Sadness,

And the heaviness of your heart gets smaller and lighter and your roots start to shrink,

Giving you your power back to stay grounded within yourself,

To rely on the stability that you have within yourself,

To trust yourself in the process of becoming whole,

To trust your heart to guide you to the answers that you need today.

Feel the lightness vibrate through all of your being while your heart warms your hands that are still resting on your chest.

Use that lightness,

The energy,

And the guidance and wisdom that you've received through this meditation to bring yourself closer to healing,

To bring yourself closer to compassion,

Love,

And kindness.

When you're ready,

You can slowly open your eyes and reconnect with the world around you.

I hope your mind has been eased and your soul has been lightened.
