Many of us grow up learning to please others, to give up our personal space to ensure others are OK before we take care of ourselves. We violate our personal space and drop our boundaries in order to avoid offending others, maybe we walk on eggshells attempting to keep the peace, forgetting we are betraying ourselves in the process. This meditation is to teach others how we want to be treated. It’s a meditation that helps us to learn how to improve our sense of self and our boundaries.

Let's set an intention.

It's time for us to regain our inner strength,

To remember who we are and to own our space.

We intend now to learn how to teach others how we want to be treated.

We intend now to learn how to strengthen our boundaries.

Taking a breath in now and just letting it flow out naturally as we begin to slow down and flow into the presence of this moment.

Noticing our feet on the ground,

The left foot,

The right foot.

Good.

In this moment we recall what a boundary is.

A boundary is simply something that teaches others how we want to be treated.

To strengthen a boundary we need to regain our sense of self and checking in with ourselves.

Let's ask,

Do I have a clear idea of who I am in relation to the others around me?

Our family,

Our friends,

Co-workers,

All relationships.

Do you know where you are in relation to others?

Are you merged with them,

Meeting their expectations,

Trying to please them?

Or do you stand in your own power and have them come in and out of your space in a way that you feel comfortable with?

Asking yourself,

How do I take care of myself?

We must begin to realize our answers to these things and understand where our space around us is so that we know what's okay and what's not okay.

Asking,

Do I put others needs and desires before mine?

How often do I do this?

Taking a breath in again and breathing out,

Just accepting the truth of where we're all at right now.

I'm clearing,

Just clearing all this old energy away.

Listen to some of these statements and just allow the truth of them to resonate with your being at the level that feels just right for you.

I matter.

I matter and I'm willing to take up space.

I have limits.

I can express them and I choose to have people around me who hear me when I express them,

Who respect me when I express them.

I'm aware of my personal space.

I'm willing to take care of myself.

I have wants and desires and I'm willing to learn what they are.

I will let others know what I am feeling,

What I need.

I'm worthy of having clear boundaries and speaking up for myself.

I'm worthy of and deserve to be treated with respect,

With kindness,

With love.

I will let others know when I am not available for how they treat me,

When the way they treat me does not feel good.

I want to feel good and letting them know is the greatest act of self-love and I love myself and I understand this is a learning process for everyone and the more I express what I need the more others can meet my needs.

So I'm gonna be easy on myself and I'm not gonna give up on myself because I know I am worth it.

Now as we breathe into these statements just allowing them to settle into the body becoming your new truth,

Your new empowered truth,

Allowing them to take up some of the space and allowing yourself to also take up some space now with a nice breath.

We're going to begin an energetic practice to strengthen our boundaries.

All you have to do is listen to the sound of my voice.

See yourself standing outside with your feet on the ground under the Sun.

Feel the warmth of the Sun.

Good.

The Sun is a brilliant stable positive light and as you see yourself standing under the Sun notice this warmth,

This light from the Sun beginning to travel downwards towards you.

This light wants to connect with you and your being.

It's drawn down to you,

Drawn down like a magnet so there's nothing for you to do except notice.

Seeing this light traveling down and connecting with you,

Feeling it on the top of your head,

Tuning into how this feels.

You might notice a sense of tingling or warmth or perhaps nothing at all.

Always welcome.

On your next breath just welcome this light down your shoulders cascading down your back liquid golden light down your arms fulfilling your arms filling your hands there's so much light it's coming out of your fingertips and this light now draws down your chest down your torso your legs out your toes into the earth you're filled with this liquid golden light breathing deeply now notice how you feel with this light having traveled throughout your being perhaps you're feeling solid more in your body grounded maybe more present just noticing your experience now tuning in what does your body feel like what does the breath feel like in your body right now notice now how the light in your body is so filled up that it begins to expand and glow outside of you slowly filling up the space around you on your next breath just notice how far this light goes how far does it travel around you can you see it going two feet around your whole body like a bubble above your head around your feet this whole bubble surrounding you see this happening now this golden bubble feeling the radiance of your light in you around you good this bubble represents your boundary your personal space two feet around you your personal space so now that we know where we end we have a better sense of where someone else might be coming into our energy and our energy field our boundary and you'll know when someone is in your space maybe it feels like violation of your space just tune into that bubble again what does your energy feel like your personal energy does it feel light knowing what it feels like will help you know when the energy has shifted and someone else is energetically in your space so with this new powerful energy around you comes your power to use your voice your ability and confidence to speak up for yourself when something feels off or not quite right you now notice when someone has said or done something to you that does not feel right that feeling is an energy coming into the calm space of your bubble and creating a dissonance something is not right when this happens you can pause and express yourself in a respectful way letting them know how it made you feel in that pause you check in how do you feel do you feel upset or angry or confused it's okay to express how you feel you can say I feel confused about what you just said why did you say that or I don't like it as you practice you'll know exactly what to say how to say it in a way that makes you feel heard and seen taking a deep breath now giving yourself a moment to let this truth penetrate deep inside you feeling your power feeling your ability to speak up and notice what else is coming up for you with the idea of speaking up for yourself when you think of speaking up for yourself what's coming up what emotions are coming up maybe you have a fear joy empowerment maybe it's something else whatever is coming up let it rise up and flow through you really feeling it letting it be seen and heard this emotions just letting them come through this is who you are someone that is aware of their personal space protects their space with their boundaries is aware of their emotions expresses how they feel you no longer give your power away to please others you're respectful of yourself and others and you speak up with loving boundaries when necessary take a moment now and let this all sink in loving boundaries new program to live by loving boundaries breathing in feeling this power this new power of loving boundaries and now that you have this new foundation of loving boundaries remembering that this is the process a process for everyone a lifelong process and we'll take practice but you can do this you can get stronger and stronger and stronger more and more powerful in your energy and your boundaries all you have to do is give yourself permission to not only be successful with this but also make mistakes and learn from them never giving up on yourself every mistake where we wish we had said something different or wish we had asked for what we needed is just an opportunity for us to recognize but that feeling felt like that feeling of discomfort of unease and then realizing what we could say next time and practicing the next time it's like exercise the more you exercise a muscle the stronger the bigger it gets you're worth it and the people who respect you and love you want to know how to respect and love you so give them the gift of letting them know exactly how you would love to be respected and as you come back to this space here just becoming aware of what's around you left foot right foot coming back into your body when you feel complete know that you can return to this practice as much as you want or need in order to continue to build up your foundation to strengthen your energetic boundaries you've done so well so well well done
