Hello.
Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Sitting upright or laying down,
Shifting your body until you find a place where you can be still with ease.
Once you arrive,
Allow the eyes to close.
Take a big cleansing breath,
Inhaling through the nose,
Filling up,
And exhaling to release it all through the mouth,
Letting go of what no longer serves you in this moment.
Let the forehead and the eyebrows soften and expand.
Let the eyelids be softly closed as you allow the eyeballs to sink deeper into the skull,
Gazing into the screen behind your forehead.
As you allow your jaw to hang heavy,
Feel your cheeks and your tongue soften.
Let your shoulders relax away from the ears,
Feeling the full length of your neck and throat.
Soften any tension in the chest,
Rib cage,
And upper arms.
Soften the belly,
Lower arms,
And hands.
Become aware of the pelvic floor and the glutes,
Bringing in a sense of release.
Let your legs be heavy,
Rooting you closer down to the earth.
And let your feet and toes rest without any effort.
Notice any thoughts within the mind.
Notice any observations or judgments that are popping up.
And then shift your awareness to the breath,
Allowing your body to breathe naturally.
Inhales and exhales coming as they do without trying to change a single thing,
Just noticing the natural rhythm of your breath.
Now,
As you gaze into the darkness behind the forehead,
You start to notice a familiar scene forming,
A scene that brings joy from your childhood.
This could be anything at all that pops up as I say these words,
A place and time from your childhood that's comforting to you.
Allow your mind to immerse so much in this scene that it feels as if you were there right now.
Notice what you see,
What you hear.
Notice any smells in the air.
Notice what the air feels like around you.
Notice what the ground feels like beneath your feet.
Notice any tastes inside of your mouth.
Notice all the sensations that come with being in this comfortable space associated with your childhood.
Let your senses be completely immersed in the scene.
As you take in your surroundings,
You notice a small child.
What is this child doing?
Are they sitting down,
Standing,
Running,
Or something else entirely?
Does the child notice you too?
You start to walk closer to the child and begin to see more details.
You notice that the child is you.
I will now ask a series of questions about this vision of yourself as a child.
Trust whatever answer comes to mind first.
How old are you?
What expression is on your face?
What does your outfit look like?
What does your hair look like?
How is your posture?
Are you doing any activity or are you still?
What energy do you exude?
You're now looking into the eyes of yourself as a child.
What do you see?
Do any emotions or memories pop up when you look into the eyes?
Without any judgment,
Notice any sensations that come up for you.
You now extend your arms and wrap your childhood self within them,
Giving them a hug that is felt entirely in both bodies,
A hug of understanding,
Of acceptance,
Feeling all the pain you experienced too early,
Giving yourself all the love and support you needed that you may not have received,
Being there for yourself,
Seeing,
Feeling,
Appreciating and loving yourself for what is there,
Telling yourself that you are strong,
You are resilient,
Including that any pain you felt was both difficult and a blessing,
Communicating that your feelings surrounding pain and way of dealing with it was valid.
Letting yourself see yourself without any filters,
Loving what is there simply for being there and seeing the beauty within the pain.
As you release your embrace,
You step back to see all the love and joy and playfulness expressed on the face of your child self.
You see the ease of life spewing out from every pore in beautiful colors and shapes.
You hear yourself laughing and singing.
You see yourself dancing and playing,
Feeling the pure ease of life that once came to you effortlessly,
Playing make believe in a world full of wonders yet to be discovered.
Feel the joy of a new world and let these blissful feelings soak into your body,
Mind and soul.
Now watch as your child self jumps into your arms for one final embrace feeling the electric sense of pure love and joy.
Allow your child self to melt and fuse with your current self.
Every cell of your being accepting and welcoming your child self into your current form.
Feeling the wholeness that comes with including all versions of yourself.
Feeling the vitality,
The solace and the peace.
Allow all versions of yourself to feel seen and supported within you.
Allow the love you have for yourself to be stored within every cell of your being,
Carrying it with you wherever you may roam.
Let the joy of your child self be with you.
Let the joy of your child self be with you.
And coming back to notice the screen behind your forehead.
Notice your breath.
Let the breath now breathing with a sense of renewal.
Feel the physical sensations within your body.
Feel the space surrounding you in the room that you are currently in.
When you're ready,
Allow your eyes to flutter open,
Seeing the space you're in with fresh eyes.
Carrying the sense of wholeness with you always bringing love and joy into everything that you do and to everyone that you see.
Thank you for this important practice.
Namaste.
