
Meditation On Love: For Ukraine
Guided Meditation leading us into a space of love for those affected by the current events in Ukraine. Allow yourself 15 minutes to relax into the moment and let the body and mind settle into a space of love.
Transcript
Namaste.
Today we're going to take a few moments to come together in a space of mindfulness and meditation in an effort to collectively allow ourselves to send some healing energy globally.
An area of focus is undoubtedly going to be the area of the Ukraine,
The people of the Ukraine,
But there's this overwhelming urge and need within my body right now to just send out this energy of hope,
This energy of healing,
This energy of love.
I talk a lot about the idea of choosing love over fear,
And I feel like right now we are living in a fear-based planet,
And we have been for some time.
And that energy,
When we sit in the space of fear,
Becomes stifling,
Stagnant,
Old.
It causes an imbalance and just really puts us into this headspace where we become very reactionary and have these pervasive thoughts that send us to darker places.
But when we choose to let ourselves step away from fear and choose to move into love,
That brings an entire energy difference into the experience and it really lets us understand the capability that we have within ourselves to empathize and to compassionately hear and listen and understand,
To see each other as souls having this human experience together and not as objects that we should be ruling over,
Or trying to own or manipulate.
And while right now we're seeing that on an expansive level,
We can take it all the way back into our homes,
Into our friendships,
Into our workplace and understand just how deeply we find ourselves sitting in fear instead of love.
I'm going to invite you to just find a comfortable seat.
If you are in motion or driving or doing something that requires your attention,
I'm going to ask you to just pause.
Place this on pause or find yourself in a safe space where you can pause and just really allow yourself to connect into the experience of being where you are,
Right?
Getting present,
Getting mindful.
And that's going to begin just by taking a seat wherever you are,
Taking a seat and maybe taking a seat doesn't even feel strong enough right now.
Maybe it's standing.
I know a lot of times for me,
It's barefoot in the environment,
Feeling my feet either on the grass or the sand or the dirt,
Asphalt.
I don't really think it matters,
Right?
Just allowing myself to connect into ground and to feel that I am so much more than this singular human on this planet.
I am connected,
Viscerally connected.
So find that space that allows you to get present.
Maybe it's seated,
Maybe it's lying down,
Maybe it's standing.
Just allow yourself to get comfortable.
And as you do that,
I want you to begin to just get present by taking a look at what is around you.
And I want you to see if you can see the space around you with eyes that are just fresh and renewed.
It's as though you've never seen the space around you before.
You've never seen the place look the way that it does,
Just get really present and notice.
See if you can begin to notice just one thing.
And maybe that one thing is meaningful or maybe it's the most mundane thing in the space around you.
It doesn't really matter.
The idea here is to let yourself get curious about what you're seeing without judgment,
Without attachment,
Just curiosity.
Notice the shape,
The color,
The texture,
The size.
Notice if it's light or heavy.
Notice how much space it occupies.
Notice where it ends,
Where the space around it begins.
And if it feels safe now,
I invite you to call that upper lid down to meet the lower lid.
Notice the space where the eyelashes come to touch,
Softening the eyes.
And then begin to listen.
Listen to the sounds around you.
Sounds you may not notice previously,
But now with open ears to see what you can hear.
And then I invite you to shift that focus to other experiences.
Notice how the clothing feels on the skin.
Notice how the air feels around you.
Notice the support underneath you,
The earth,
The floor,
The chair.
All of these sensations are completely outside of our conscious awareness.
Until we call them in,
Allow them to enter.
And now I invite you to move into the most comfortable space for you.
And in a few moments,
We will collectively begin to send love and energy to read Ukraine to every person suffering.
This is the least that we can do in this moment.
Creating a calm and loving state of mind.
When we create a calm and loving state of mind,
We create solutions.
When we create a common loving state of mind,
We make better decisions.
When we create a calm and loving state of mind,
We are in a position to help others so much more effectively.
So thank you for being here and creating this state of mind.
Take a moment to check in on yourself.
How are you feeling?
Can you allow yourself to feel without restriction?
Your feelings are valid.
Maybe you find it easier to connect with your feelings if you take a deep breath.
Let's breathe together.
Breathing in through the nose and let it go.
Circular motion,
Breathing in again and let it go.
Breathe like this a few times,
Allowing your breath to move through the body just like the waves of the ocean,
Each one unique and beautiful,
Bringing in restoration and peace on that inhale.
And the exhale,
Carrying away anything that is pulling you away from that experience in this moment.
Breathing in and breathing out.
And as you continue to breathe like this,
Maybe you start to see an image or hear a sound that represents the way you're feeling right now.
Maybe it's a sensation.
I invite you to allow it to soften.
Let it drain out of you.
And while this is happening,
You may find yourself relaxing even more into this process,
Allowing yourself to let go,
To let go of things,
To let go of expectations,
To let go of sensation,
To let go of noise,
To let go of worry,
To let go of burden,
Of fear.
Allow things to settle down for right now.
I invite you to find a memory that fills your heart with love.
Maybe it's an event,
A person,
An experience,
Whatever it is,
Something that allows you to feel completely full of love here and now in this breath,
In this moment.
As it is,
Love is the most powerful feeling that we know.
Immerse yourself in love.
Allow it to shine inside of you in the very center of your being.
Let love live inside the very center of your being.
Allow love to shine as a beautiful light on you from above.
See how it is out there existing right now in unlimited abundance.
And simply through your awareness,
You allow it to move through you easily and comfortably.
You are not the source,
But you are a vital part of its flow.
Let love express itself in any way possible,
Images,
Sounds,
Words.
Let it flow through you from above and expand,
Expanding just outside of your physical body and then a bit further,
Even more further,
Further still.
Allow love to fill up the whole room and then move beyond,
Moving beyond the building you're in,
Beyond your city,
Beyond your country.
The incessant flow of loving energy moving through you,
Entering from above,
Expanding all the way out.
In your mind's eye,
You might see people,
People you know,
People you barely know,
People you don't know at all.
Whoever it is,
See them immersed in the loving energy.
See them healthy and happy.
And if you can,
I invite you to stretch your arms in front of you,
Opening your palms and managing the planet floating in front of your palms like a beach ball.
My friends,
Our collective home is hurting right now.
There are people that need our love and our support.
The Ukraine needs our love and support.
We all want peace.
Thank you for being here and keep feeling that incessant loving energy flowing through your body,
Emanating from your palms,
Enveloping the planet.
Feel it flowing from above this beautiful light,
Whatever color you see moving through you and emanating from your palms,
Enveloping everything that exists,
Especially the Ukraine.
Healing those affected by war and suffering,
Healing those who are delusional and don't know what they're doing right now so that they may gain full realization and correct themselves for the sake of peace.
Healing families,
Friends,
Healing brothers and sisters,
Sons and daughters,
Relatives,
Neighbors,
Healing strangers,
Healing everyone.
Allow yourself to keep directing this energy,
Seeing people who are near and dear to you from the past or from the present.
See them happy and healthy.
See them receiving this loving light,
This loving energy.
See them receiving it now and smiling and waving.
See them happy and healthy.
Maybe it's one person in particular.
Maybe you think of many people.
Send it to everyone that you can.
Send it to everyone who is suffering right now.
Send them this loving energy that is coming through you.
Thank you.
Thank you for being a light.
Thank you for being love.
Thank you for being truth.
Thank you.
You can rest here as long as you like in this feeling and you may come back to this over and over again.
But in a moment together,
We will allow these visions to dissolve and allow yourself to dissolve all into love,
All of you,
Knowing that this light is always with you.
It is always in you and that you can always give it freely,
Always helping those in need.
Coming back into the breath,
Allow yourself to take a few deep cleansing breaths,
Filling the entire body with fresh and renewed energy,
Softly allowing the upper lid to lift and taking in the experience of this moment again,
The sounds,
The room,
The support,
Seeing it all through the lens of love.
