When the fear comes out of nowhere,
When you can feel the boat rocking,
When your vision becomes just a pinprick of light,
A far-off star in an inky sky daring to exist despite all of the odds,
A bright spot on the map of your life saying you are here,
You are here my love,
Right where your feet are planted,
Take stock of your surroundings,
Turn your heartbeat into a trampoline to touch the sky,
Climb inside the only light you can find until it opens back up into the ocean,
Until you are swallowed again by awe,
You,
You resilient wonder,
You brave compass,
You are never traveling alone.
When the waves of my life start rocking,
I remember this is part of the process instead of any fault of my own,
I come back to the anchor points of my surroundings in order to help soothe what aches,
I drop the need to be perfect,
I allow authenticity to alchemize my anxiety,
I remember my values and how this moment prefers my honesty,
My imperfection,
The full breadth of my humanity,
I cut myself some slack,
I enter into the ever-present dance with all of my half-baked ideas,
The dirty dishes in the sink,
The feelings that take a little extra time to move through my being,
I am practicing every day how to surrender,
To show up to what matters most to me,
I give myself the gift of not taking my life so seriously,
I let myself have fun in the process,
I turn my heartbeat into a trampoline to touch the sky,
I allow myself to be seen in the morning light,
I release the urgency to know or have it all,
I release the ideas of perfection that were never mine to carry,
I give this gift to everyone I meet,
I remember I am never alone on this journey.
