A Poem & Affirmations For Embracing Your Humanness

I begin this track with an original poem titled "Every Step Forward Is Leading You Somewhere" which talks about the wild, treacherous, wonderful experience of being a human. I then move into reciting some affirmations based on this poem which are intended to help you feel supported, present, connected, alive, and loved. "Your heart has always been the first sign of springtime."

What a wild,

Treacherous thing it is to be human.

To let yourself be known in the glow of the candlelight.

To have no idea what tomorrow will bring,

But to trek forward,

Courageously into the sunset despite it all.

What a wild,

Wonderful thing it is to be human.

To hold out your hands to the unknown and be hell-bent on enjoying yourself along the way.

To remain a warm embrace even when winter bears its teeth.

Let the pressure fall from your shoulders.

Let it melt back into the earth and sprout a thousand new seeds.

Your heart has always been the first sign of springtime.

The shadows cast out for good.

Luck on your side at every turn.

Rest here in the victory lap,

My friend.

Every step forward is leading you somewhere.

I allow myself to be known.

To be seen for exactly who I am in the stage of my life.

Knowing that I am constantly changing,

Ebbing,

And flowing.

I trade in my desire to do it all on my own and remember that we are stronger in numbers.

I see myself as a valuable member of society.

A good friend,

A loving partner,

And a kind-hearted human.

I release the pressure in my body and let it melt back into the earth,

Planting a thousand new seeds.

I am supported.

I am present.

I do not have to know where the light is to know I deserve it.

Or know exactly where this next phase of my life is taking me in order to follow it more deeply into the night.

I listen to the whispers,

Dreams,

And desires of my heart.

I make space for what fills me up.

I soothe the achy parts of me with the reminder that my job is to be alive.

To love more.

To trust more.

To be known.
