Five Acred Wood Fables,
The Hermitage Garden,
By R.

Bodie.
Let me tell you about the abundant Hermitage food forest,
Fields,
And gardens at the Five Acred Wood.
The fresh fruits,
Vegetables,
Herbs,
And flowers will really do your body a lot of healthy good.
The Hermitage has a food forest with acres of trees full of nuts and fruit.
There are several scattered gardens and fields that are well worth your nutritional pursuit.
Here is a list of all the flowers,
Fruits,
Vegetables,
Herbs,
Nuts,
And mushrooms that the Hermitage holds.
Let's take a walk together beyond the fields of dandelion,
Daffodil,
Black-eyed susans,
And marigolds.
If you dig down,
You will find potatoes and yams resting beneath the soil underground.
There's a bevy of beets,
Carrots,
Turnips,
Radishes,
And fennel to be found.
There's a pumpkin patch,
Acorn squash,
And tomatoes ripening on the vine.
There's crops of corn growing in rows in straight lines.
There's melons,
Like watermelon,
Honeydew,
And cantaloupe,
All about.
There's cucumbers for pickling and cabbage to make sauerkraut.
There's mullin,
Spearmint,
And nettle to harvest for teas.
There's a variety of apple,
Pear,
And peach trees.
There's broccoli,
Brussel sprouts,
And cauliflower.
There's plenty of green beans and bell peppers to devour.
The scent of the lavender field permeates and flows.
The sage shrubs and calming chamomile will tickle your nose.
There's pecan trees and peanuts growing all around.
There's cashew and walnut trees abound.
There's orange and mango trees.
There's lemons and limes growing in groves as far as the eye sees.
There's cacao hanging from trees,
A variety of grapes on grapevines to pick as you please.
There's green jalapeno,
Orange habanero,
And red ghost peppers too.
So many peppers to put the heat in your warm winter stew.
There's avocados and humongous jackfruits growing on trees scattered about.
They are close to the pond to soak up an abundance of water in case of a drought.
There's cilantro,
Lettuce,
And kale.
There's strawberries growing out of a straw bale.
There's ample blackberry and raspberry brambles growing wild and free.
There's an abundance of American persimmon and pawpaw trees.
I see patches of blueberries,
Dewberries,
Huckleberries,
Mulberries,
And boysenberries next to the plum and nectarine trees.
There's cherries and apricots falling off their tree branches with the gentle nudge of a cool refreshing breeze.
There's trees with ripe avocado,
Guava,
Pineapple,
And papaya that surround,
Providing shade for the mushroom's mycelium network to grow underground.
Speaking of mushrooms,
There's shiitake,
Lion's mane,
And morel.
There's chicken of the woods,
Porcini,
And chanterelle.
What a bounty,
Such an abundance of nutrition for all to share.
Consuming the natural nutrients from Mother Earth is a tremendous act of self-love and self-care.
Maybe you can try some of these nutritious fruits,
Vegetables,
Herbs,
Nuts,
Or mushrooms too.
Thank you for listening to the 5 Acred Wood Fables,
The Hermitage Garden.
Much love,
Bodhi
