Take a moment to get settled into a comfortable position that will allow you to feel relaxed yet alert.
You can sit on the floor or on a chair.
Just be sure to sit in a way that your spine can be long and upright.
Try to eliminate all distractions.
When you're settled,
Take a deep and cleansing breath.
As you exhale,
Soften and close your eyes.
Let's bring our awareness to the breath,
Just as it is without trying to change it.
Breathing in through the nose and exhaling slowly through the mouth.
Let us be present with the sensations that we're feeling as we scan our body,
Breathing in and out slowly at a comfortable rate,
Starting from the soles of our feet,
Bringing our attention to our toes,
Our ankles,
Shins,
Heels,
And gills.
Allowing our breath to ease any pains or strains.
As we bring our breath to our knees,
Our thighs and hamstrings,
Bringing attention without judgment to any sensations we may feel,
Bringing the breath up through our stomach and chest,
Allowing the rhythm from our hearts to collaborate with our breath,
Easing any tension and stress,
Allowing the breath to circulate from our shoulders down through our arms,
Our hands and fingertips,
Bringing our attention and breath back up through the arms and shoulders to the neck and face,
Letting our jaws and teeth relax,
Letting go of any resistance and tension,
Softening the face into a gentle smile.
Now as we feel our calm breath circulating through our entire body,
From the soles of our feet to the crown of our head,
Acceptance is a conscious choice,
A freedom from resistance,
To allow for the present moment to be without judgment or emotion.
Acceptance is letting life flow and unfold without letting our fears and insecurities get in the way and knowing that there are certain things that we just cannot control,
An awareness that allows us to take small actions and steps to change the things we can control.
Acceptance is being receptive rather than offering resistance to our situation.
Instead of ruminating on the past or fretting about the future,
Wasting energy on wanting things to be different than they are,
We are open to the truth that can only be found in this present moment.
We accept the reality that we are experiencing,
Knowing that we can control our reaction and our response.
Accept that all is temporary,
All will pass,
Allowing those feelings of resistance to fade away,
Knowing that if we hold on to the resistance,
It will only prolong our negative experience.
By letting go of our resistance,
We bring an opportunity to change our attitude,
To change our perspective.
Acceptance is knowing that even a seemingly undesirable outcome or situation can lead to a profound opportunity for growth.
Acceptance is about trust,
Believing in ourselves,
Knowing that we can rise to whatever occasion presents itself,
Being open to all of life's valuable lessons,
Especially those lessons we resist,
As those difficult challenges will unblock our path,
Leading us to greater possibilities.
As we move forward with the rest of our day and night,
We accept whatever comes our way.
We will not fight against the flow.
Whatever happens,
Happens.
We can only recognize and choose our reaction.
We will choose to keep going with the flow,
Knowing that we cannot control many things in our lives.
So we will have the mindful awareness to embrace all that we can control,
Such as our thoughts,
Our actions,
And our attitudes.
As we bring our attention back to our body,
Gently moving our fingers and toes,
Slowly opening our eyes,
Entering back into this space,
Becoming familiar with our surroundings,
Bringing our hands to our chest in the prayer position,
Sealing this meditation with respect,
Love,
And light.
Namaste.
