Hello,
My name is Osiris and I'm Rise Yoga and Healing here on Insight Timer and everywhere else in the social media realm.
My pronouns are my name,
So Osiris Osiris.
Thank you for joining me today with this short,
Guided chanting session on universal happiness.
The Pali phrase or chant,
Sabha satah suki,
Onto,
Has been used by many to wish themselves and others eternal happiness.
Commonly associated with Theravada Buddhism,
The chant can be loosely translated to mean may all beings be happy and well.
This phrase works well as a standalone practice or incorporated into a longer mind-body practice and can be whispered,
Sung,
And done either alone or in a group.
As with sound meditation,
Vocal chanting,
Especially with others,
Is a great way to channel your inner strength and power in focusing on certain values and hopes like happiness.
While this audio can be played while walking or even driving,
Today we'll do it seated.
Find a comfortable chair,
Either crisscross on your floor or on your mat,
Or seated in a chair.
Whichever you choose,
Find strength and alignment in the spine.
It helps to imagine an invisible puppet string pulling you up,
Lengthening your spine and lifting the crown of your head.
You can place your hands anywhere that feels comfortable for you.
Some examples are resting them on your thighs,
Creating a mudra of your choice,
Or letting your hands rest in your lap.
When you're ready,
Begin to steady your breath,
Slightly deepening your inhales and exhales to ready you for this practice.
We'll take a few seconds of silent breathing and then begin.
The phrase we'll be chanting today is,
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
We'll do a few rounds of listening and repeating,
And then begin a continual non-stop chanting practice for about a minute.
And while I'll be doing a sing-songy version of the chant,
Feel free to whisper it or speak it in your normal,
Unaltered voice.
Let's begin.
I'll say the word,
And you repeat.
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
Now take a deep breath in and out.
And we'll begin in unison in three,
Two,
One.
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
Saba Sata Suki An Tu.
Take a deep breath in and out.
Thank you for joining me today.
Practicing loving kindness each and every day,
Especially vocally,
Is a wonderful way to build inner strength and universal compassion.
It helps us to cultivate honest empathy for others and ourselves in an open and vulnerable way.
Thank you,
And may your day be filled with light and ease.
