Hello,

My name is Osiris and I'm Rise Yoga and Healing here on Insight Timer and everywhere else in the social media realm.

My pronouns are my name,

So Osiris,

Osiris.

Thank you for joining me today with this short,

Guided chanting session for physical realignment and spiritual resilience.

For this practice,

Find a comfortable seat either on the ground,

Possibly on your mat or carpet,

Or in a chair with your back lengthened.

You can place your hands anywhere that is comfortable,

Either on your legs,

In your lap,

Or in a mudra of your choice.

The Mahamritu Jaya mantra,

Also known as the Rudra mantra,

Is one of the most popular and used mantras in public domain or that is universally accessible.

It is a mantra meant to express gratitude for the strength and power of Lord Shiva,

Who is known to be one of the highest divine powers in Hinduism.

Many who practice this mantra also see it as a way to strengthen the physical self,

As the mantra deals with rejuvenating the self and combating mortality through a prayer to Shiva.

It is also known as a healing mantra,

Helpful when our own immunity or that of a loved one is compromised.

To begin,

We'll deepen our breath and fill our belly and lungs with fresh and full air.

Inhale through your nose and exhale through your nose.

For this breathing practice,

There is no need to restrict the back of your throat or build any sort of fire in our bodies.

We want to deepen our breath to ready us for chanting,

But in a way that preserves our energy and relaxes our bodies.

Continue inhaling and exhaling through your nose for three more rounds,

Then return to your normal breath.

Now for the chanting,

We'll start with a few rounds of listening and repeating before starting a continual non-stop chanting practice together.

So I'll say a couple of words,

Pause so you can repeat them,

Say a few more words,

Pause so you can repeat those,

And continue until the mantra is completed.

We'll do this for a total of three times.

And while I'll say them in a sing-songy fashion,

Feel free to whisper them or say them in a normal unaltered voice.

Let's begin.

Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Now take a deep breath in and out.

As we progress in our group chant,

Feel free to explore the sensation of chanting along your body.

This can mean placing a hand on your belly and another on your heart.

It can mean lovingly placing your hands on your throat to feel the vibrations or it can mean gently placing a hand on your head to experience the fullness of the words on your skull.

You can also remain still or sway side to side.

And if it feels good,

You can even close your eyes.

Now let's begin.

Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Om trayam bakam yajamahe Sughandim pushti vardanam Urvarukamiva bandhina Mrityor mukshyam amritat Take a deep breath in and out.

If your eyes were closed,

Begin to flutter them open.

Wiggle around your fingers and roll around your wrists.

Thank yourself for showing up and being here for this practice today.

I hope to practice with you soon.

May light and ease be with you.
