Hello,
My name is Osiris,
And I'm Rise Yoga and Healing here on Insight Timer and on most places in the social media realm.
My pronouns are my name,
So Osiris Osiris.
Thank you for joining me in this simple practice for chakra alignment.
As a short overview,
The chakras are energy wheels of the body that oversee different areas of life and govern different human experiences like enthusiasm,
Insight,
And self-love.
In Ayurvedic practices,
The chakras are seen as a source of energy flow,
And various ailments are believed to originate first and foremost in blockages of these energy wheels.
Thus,
Purifying the chakras through meditation,
Acupuncture,
Or yin yoga,
For instance,
Can be practiced to unblock them and promote enhanced energy flow in the body.
While some traditions observe hundreds of chakras throughout the body,
Today I'll focus on the nine chakras,
Which include the seven corporal chakras as well as the secondary earth star and soul star chakras.
We'll go through a body scan of sorts along each of the chakras and engage in a chakra opening and purification at each stage.
And remember to always trust your inner knowing,
Because you will know,
Much more than I,
What feels right for your body's healing and alignment.
To begin,
Find a comfortable seat,
Either in a chair or on the floor,
And sit with a straight back with the pelvis tilted slightly forward.
Reach the abdomen to support your spinal health.
If you're sitting in a chair,
Plant your feet firmly on the ground,
And if you're seated on the floor,
Make sure the feet are placed one in front of the other and not on top of one another,
So that the outer edges of the feet are touching the floor.
Raise your hands either in your lap or on your thighs,
Facing up if you're in a space of openness,
And facing down if you're in a space of grounding.
When you're ready,
Begin to deepen your breath by inhaling and exhaling through the nose,
Expanding your chest and belly if possible.
Take a few deep breaths to settle into your space,
And if it feels comfortable for you,
Consider closing your eyes or letting your gaze soften.
Start to bring awareness to the connection between your feet and the ground beneath you.
See if you can,
With your mind's eye,
Dig deeper into the earth,
Just slightly,
Until you reach about 12 inches beneath your feet.
This is where Vasundhara,
Or Earth Star Chakra,
Is located.
Visualize the color of adobe,
A rich reddish brown,
The color of the earth,
Pulsing with energy.
Imagine this chakra soaking up the wisdom and richness of the earth,
The wisdom of the ancient soil beneath you,
And lifting it up to your body.
Breathe into this chakra,
Filling it with the power and light of your lungs,
Giving it ample gratitude for its kindness and love.
Begin to slowly move up to the base of your spine,
Or perineum specifically,
Where Muladhara,
Or root chakra,
Resides.
Imagine this chakra,
The red color of a rose,
Pulsing with energy.
Send your breath into that space to offer it a source of energy and power.
This chakra guides our feelings of safety and comfort.
As you breathe,
Know you are safe in this body right now.
Allow the red energy circle to slowly encase your whole body in a blanket of red,
Guided and fueled by your own breath.
You are safe.
Move slightly higher along the body to the space beneath your belly button.
Svadisthana,
Or sacral chakra,
Is the orange color of the sunrise.
The sacral chakra governs our feelings of passion and creativity.
Imagine this chakra pulsing with an orange glow and filling your body,
Giving you access to greater artistry and insight.
Ask yourself to recall moments of deep passion and engagement in your life,
And allow those memories to settle here,
So that if you feel blocked in the future,
You can recall those memories and ask Svadisthana for support and healing.
You are creativity.
Now bring your awareness to above your navel,
To manipura chakra,
Or your solar plexus chakra,
Which burns yellow like the bright light of the sun.
When balanced,
This chakra offers you great confidence and empowerment,
And when blocked,
You can feel depleted of strength and vigor.
Imagine this yellow ball of light burning softly like the sun,
And as if it had rays like the sun.
Imagine its energy reaching beyond the space between your belly button and ribcage and going as far down as your pelvis and as high up as your heart.
Know your power and potential are greater than you can ever imagine.
Breathe deeply as you soak this internal and deeply guarded knowledge about yourself.
You are capable.
Move your way to your heart,
Located where your anatomical heart lives.
Anahata chakra,
Or your heart chakra,
Resides here with a bright green color of springtime grass.
The chakra that governs love and affection,
It is often strained with continual labor,
Work.
We're always overworking heart chakra,
And unsurprisingly,
It is often one of the most blocked chakras.
When blocked,
Anahata chakra can lead to feelings of pessimism about life or despair and hopelessness.
Breathe into your heart space and whisper to your heart,
Thank you,
Little heart.
I love and appreciate everything you do and are.
I promise to take care of you.
See if you can notice the green globe pulsing like newness and accepting your words of kindness.
Imagine a green ray from your heart shooting out like a beam of light and encasing your entire body in a bubble of love and protection.
You are loved.
Begin to make your way to the center of your throat,
Where vishuddha chakra,
Or your throat chakra,
Resides.
Blue,
The color of a crystal clear sky,
Vishuddha chakra governs our communication and deepest truth.
When we feel unable to say what we want or worry about toeing the line between speaking our truth and speaking kindly,
This chakra is involved.
When we're unable to speak our truth,
Speak our heart.
It is anahata,
Or heart chakra,
That governs our throat chakra.
These two are intimately connected.
Breathe into this beautiful blue globe of energy and allow your inhales to set the intention in your body to receive peace,
Freedom,
Truth,
And insight.
Allow your exhales to emanate a blue ray of light into the space and world around you.
As you continue to breathe,
This ray of light slowly expands into the space around you,
Expanding so all the creatures and beings that make up your world can share in this journey to self-expression and kindness.
Take a few more breaths,
Setting these intentions,
And share them as well.
When you are ready,
Allow the rays of vishuddha chakra to come back to itself and allow the pulsing of energy to settle.
You are free.
Move to the space between your eyes,
Or the middle of your brain,
For ajna or third eye chakra.
This chakra is the color of indigo,
Or the color of a beautiful peacock.
It is the source of wisdom and intuition.
As human beings,
We are overwhelmingly led with our sense of sight and seeing.
We often ignore or neglect our other senses,
Which are just as valid,
And instead prioritize the sense that is also prone to confusion.
Our sight can be deceiving and can be painful when we put blind trust into what our fallible human eyes can see.
Engaging this internal wisdom and knowing through adhyachakra can elevate our experience with the world around us.
Imagine this indigo-colored chakra releasing a ray of light straight out and up toward the sky,
Allowing you to connect with astral wisdom and knowing.
As your breathing connects you,
Visualize a symbiotic movement of energy and love between adhyachakra and the sky.
Allow this ray to slowly settle back into your third eye space,
Knowing you are equipped with all you need to move forward.
You are trustworthy.
Slowly move your way to the top of your head to reach sahasrara,
Or crown chakra.
This chakra,
The color violet,
Like shining amethyst,
Represents your connection to source and higher knowing.
Imagine a colorful globe pulsing,
Guided by the breath and energy of the universe.
As one of the three main pathways for energy movement between the external and internal,
The top of your head is a precious space and connecting point with self and source.
Take a few breaths to visualize your violet-colored globe pulsing,
And allow your breath to align and sync with the breath of the world around you,
Of the space around you.
You are wisdom.
And when you are ready,
Move slightly above your head,
Where a globe the color of the universe is located.
This is soul star chakra,
Which pulses brightly in all directions.
Allow your breath to engage this chakra,
Also called sutara chakra,
Which supports your connection to universal intelligence and purpose.
Allow your inhales to expand the globe's reach,
And your exhales to bring it back in lovingly.
After a few more breaths,
Allow your internal energy,
Which is flowing freely and abundantly,
To support soul star chakra in blanketing you in a cover of universal energy,
Like a quilt of light being draped over your entire body,
Seeping into every cell,
Muscle,
And fiber of your being.
Sit in this comfort and stillness for a few more breaths.
When you are ready,
Allow this blanket to slowly evaporate back into space,
Back to source and the universe.
Knowing you hold universal light and love within you,
Take a few deep breaths to bring you back into your space,
Back into your physical and earthly body.
If it feels good,
Begin to wiggle your fingers or toes and flutter your eyelids open if they were closed.
With your eyes,
Begin to slowly take in the room around you,
Welcoming each and every piece and part with love and thanks.
And to close out this practice,
Feel free to join me by placing your hands over your heart,
One on top of the other.
Smile and bow slightly.
Thank you for practicing with me today,
And I hope your day is filled with light and ease.
