Hello,

My name is Osiris and I'm Ryse Yoga and Healing here on Insight Timer and on most places in the social media realm.

My pronouns are my name,

So Osiris Osiris.

Thank you for joining me in this short visualization practice for period relief.

Grab a warm sweater and a nice hot cup of tea and let's get started.

When you're on your period,

It can often feel overwhelming and even a little painful at times.

Okay?

Maybe a lot painful,

Especially in the first couple of days.

Everyone's body is different and for some,

Their period can mean knife-sharp abdominal pain and heavy bleeding,

And for others,

It might mean three or four days of light spotting and the occasional cramp.

Whatever your experience is,

It is completely valid.

Regardless of where you are in this journey,

Where you are in your cycle,

This visualization session can help you practice embodiment and enhance the connection between your body and your mind,

Which is a very potent tool.

Find a comfortable seat where you feel most at ease and relax your body,

Fully relax it,

Especially your stomach area.

There's no need to clench or hold in at all throughout this practice.

Feel free to roll out the wrists,

Do some neck circles,

Or roll your shoulders to get the energy flowing and to get your body prepared for seated stillness.

When you're finished,

You can bring your hands to gently rest on your thighs or in your lap.

And when you're ready,

Begin to deepen your breath in and out through the nose to conserve energy and retain internal warmth.

Take a few seconds to notice how your chest expands in and out with your breath,

Just slightly,

And how it begins to warm your body from within.

Begin to channel that internal energy through your breath into the spaces where you feel the most sensation,

Whether your abdomen,

Chest,

Back,

All three,

Or even somewhere else.

Use your breath to continue warming the areas of discomfort,

And use your mind's eye to begin to notice the color that radiates from those areas of sensation.

It might look like a globe or a colorful glob of moving atoms pulsing to match your heartbeat or stagnant to reflect unmoving energy.

With your mind's eye,

Begin unveiling those visual aspects,

The texture,

The temperature,

The movement of that colorful globe.

Continue sending your breath there and see if you can dissipate any pain or hurt you might be feeling.

Spend a minute in this practice of color visualization and sending breath to slowly release the color globe of its potency.

During this minute of silence,

I will also be silent so you can better engage your breath,

And I'll cue our return when the time comes.

You can begin.

As we bring our awareness away from the areas of pain and into the whole body,

Notice again what colors are now present.

Are they the same,

Or have they changed to reflect your current state of being?

Is the globe of color in the same place as it was before,

Or has it moved?

Imagine this colorful globe or blotch of energy,

If it's still there,

Expanding and enveloping all of your body in its warmth,

Love,

And comfort.

Envision it,

Expanding throughout your abdomen and chest,

Along both legs and arms,

And slowly filling up the space in your head as well.

And if possible,

Expand that energy even more to cover the whole room with radiating love,

Showering your surrounding area with the same care that you are giving yourself.

If it feels good,

Place your hands gently on your body wherever you are called to do so,

Maybe over your heart or on your abdomen.

And if you'd prefer,

You can keep your hands on your lap or in your thighs.

Regardless,

Start bringing your breath back to its natural depth and pace.

If it feels good,

You can also begin exhaling through your mouth to release the built-up energy and heat that brought internal balance and restored your internal temperature to bring you into a state of homeostasis.

Now that you are there,

This warmth can be released.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation,

And I hope it brought you even an ounce of relief and comfort during this time of transformation and occasional discomfort.

To close this practice,

Consider joining me by placing both hands over the heart,

One on top of the other,

And bow slightly.

Thank you again,

And may your day be filled with light and ease.
