Welcome to your five minute autumn leaves meditation.
As the trees begin to let their leaves fall,
It can be a perfect time for us to let go of anything extra that we may have been holding onto as well.
If you've been experiencing any excess energy,
Thoughts,
Or emotions that have accumulated over the summer months,
Take this time now to simply let it all go by releasing everything that no longer serves you just as the autumn trees shed their leaves at the beginning of this season.
Begin by sitting or lying down in a comfortable position and closing your eyes.
Try taking a nice deep breath in through your nose,
Followed by a long deep exhale.
Continue to breathe deeply as you think about what it is that you would like to let go of today.
Feel the energy that you'd like to release.
Anything that has been holding you back or simply weighing you down and not allowing you to feel fully present and at peace.
Good.
Now on your next inhale,
Imagine this energy as a dark gray smoke in your mind.
And on your next exhale,
Release this smoke with your breath.
Inhale and exhale.
Continue to imagine the smoke leaving your body and mind with each exhale,
Drifting away in the breeze,
Swirling amongst all the falling leaves in the air.
As the leaves and the smoke reach the ground,
They're swept away into a pile by an old man with a rake,
Who leaves them there where they then decompose and eventually seep back into the earth from where they came.
You feel lighter now,
Like the bare tree branches,
Ready to relax into the cooler months.
You've let go of the excess heat and energy left over from the summer months.
But unlike the tree branches blowing in the cool breeze outside,
You feel cozy and warm.
You're present and at peace.

Begin by bringing some movement back into your body by moving your fingers and toes.
You can reach your arms up for a nice deep stretch.
And when you feel ready,
You may slowly begin to open your eyes.
