This app was introduced to me by one of my professors at the Michigan School of Professional Psychology as a tool to use in our personal lives, as well as our professional, clinical psychology lives. This app has literally changed my life, as well as the lives of my clients. If you are trying to incorporate mindfulness practice or advanced meditation practice into your life, then this app is for you and everyone you know! There are well organized categories with 1,000's of meditations to choose from. From kids, teens, beginners, to help with sleep, anxiety, depression, and those who seek body-projection and more "alternative" forms of meditation. There is a meditation for absolutely everyone on the planet. Easy to work into busy schedules with one minute-pick-me-ups, to as many hours as you want to sit in meditation. There is a forum to be able to reach out to others globally, with like-minded healthy life styles so as to give and receive support in creating change desired personally and globally. This is the first review I have ever written for an app, but as a psychologist who incorporates mindfulness into my therapy sessions, I have to give credit where credit is due. I am so thankful for this app, it gives me hope that technology can be used to make changes in the world to help better mankind.

I’m a mental health counselor and I use and recommend insight timer to all my clients. Treating depression and anxiety best treatment is mindfulness approaches and I’m so happy that this application makes it easier while other applications can be as effective no other offers all meditations (all of them) for free as insight timer. Don’t think I’ll ever switch.

I've used 6-7 different guided meditation or guided imagery apps and this is by far the one I use most (actually the only I use anymore!) I am also a primary care medical provider and recommend this app to my patients for depression, anxiety, insomnia, stress reduction, chronic pain and much more. Other apps I've used give you either a free trial, or limited access and then make you sign-up for a subscription. I've done the the subscription thing with other very popular apps and still found this free app more useful! I use it every day and couldn't recommend it more. Only thing I'm not 100% in love with is they have you rate every time you listen (not just the 1st time) so I feel the ratings may not reflect the truth if the same people are rating the same meditations they love every day. Just a side note, but otherwise I love it. BTW, this is the first review I've ever written for any app, and for me, that says a lot about how much I love this app!

I have used this app exclusively for my meditation practice for years now. I recommend it to all of my clients. Unlike many other apps, this has everything one needs for all stages of the meditation journey, beginners and experts alike. It can be a lot at first because of all the content choices so start with the beginner section. Find some teachers you like and follow them. It is also a great tool for anxiety or any other mental and emotional state you may be struggling with. Use the search tool to find guided tracks specific to what you need help with and you’ll find lots of options!

As a mental health therapist, I recommend this app to all my clients. It is the largest free library of guided meditations. There is also a timer for non-guided meditations that you can customize with bells or gongs, etc. The paid version allows access to courses, downloading tracks, and other cool things, but all the meditations are available in the free version. From tracks for anxiety, sleep, manifesting, loving-kindness, secular, religious traditions... There is something here for everyone.

I've recommended Insight Timer over the past few years as a wonderful support for linking mind and body and for overall well being. Many of my patients have found this app to be an extremely helpful tool for managing anxiety,stress and for a daily mindfulness practice. I practice in New York City as a chiropractor and craniosacral therapist. My patients, like people all over, are super busy and stressed. I absolutely love this app and use it everyday!! I suffer from episodes of depression, severe PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, and excruciating pain due to Radial Nerve Palsy that was caused from an officer using extreme excessive and unnecessary force against me. I am still currently being tested for the damage done and what else is going on because there are other symptoms causing pain and the doctors aren’t sure yet but they can’t rule out fibromyalgia or possibly even MS. Dealing with this alone is extremely difficult for me right now as well as my haunting past trauma and 8 concussions, 2 of them also being TBIs. And I’m only 29... I’m sharing my story here for anyone who is going through their own struggles or struggling their own demons - for anyone with mental illnesses, emotional, physical, or sexual assault, any type of addiction, self esteem issues, or if you simply love meditation then THIS IS BEST APP for you! I purchased the full version only because I want to do the courses (& I like the dark theme. Lol). It is a bit expensive but if you aren’t interested in the courses than the free version gives you access to ALL of the 40.000+ meditations - which BTW there are HUNDREDS of different types of practices; guided meditations, yoga, music, binaural beats, hypnotherapy, subliminal, affirmations, Buddhist, Tibetan, Christian practices, Law of Attraction, they even have ones for children! That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this app. There’s also a community and groups where you can connect with people who also use this app near you or across the globe! You can even message the instructors or teachers directly from the app! They love hearing your feedback, so I highly recommend rating and reviewing every session you do. Plus these are certified, real teachers, instructors, therapists, scientists, shamans, etc. who genuinely care about humanity and our wellbeing. They donate their time and these sessions for everyone to access for FREE! There are buttons on their individual profiles where you are able to donate to them but it is not required. I have Insomnia, PTSD and ADHD. The sleep mindfulness meditations put me to sleep every time and the letting go ones help me reduce everyday stress greatly (my muscles and mind can actually switch off!). There’s a huge range to choose from so there is something for everybody. I personally enjoy the mindfulness Meditations done by Meg James. This is something that requires you to try and try again. If you don’t give up you may find what you’re looking for.

I am also motivated by the star-reward system, my latest streak was 139 days of consecutive meditation, which is fantastic for someone who just started a regular meditation practice. I cannot recommend this app enough. Side note: I have ADHD and this app has helped me manage it, I am so grateful 🙏🏼 Another note: I am a school social worker and I use the app with students all the time, and my 8 year old daughter uses it as well! Wow! I can’t believe this app has so many meditations and practices for free. Wanting to blend my daily workout with mindfulness, I downloaded this app. Best decision ever! I ended up subscribing. It’s just that good. They have monthly challenges which feeds my “A” type personality. Lol, I’m working on it! I have ADHD with underlying depression. This app helps me refocus when I am unfocused and feeling overwhelmed. Amazing what breathing does to calm my mind and my nerves. I even use it right before meetings to help calm me. I can’t believe how much is available for free. I’m getting ready to pay for subscription because I am really interested in a number of the available courses. Im excited to see what else is unlocked when I pay, because I’ve already gotten great value from the free version. I’ve meditated and practiced mindfulness for a long time and have recently become aware of the direct connections between these practices and helping me deal with symptoms of ADHD. Now that I have gotten more familiar with some of the underlying mechanisms like default mode network and the parasympathetic nervous system, I love that I can actually search by those terms and find content descriptions that tell me how it relates to those mechanisms. Really grateful for this app and looking forward to gaining and acting in the valuable insights. ♥️

My son is 11 and has severe ADHD and PTSD with Anxiety and Depression. I am currently trying to overcome a 17 yearlong abusive and toxic relationship. I have learned to love meditation as a recovery tool and I am grateful for the recommendation to try this method and to continue learning to meditate and use it for my daily life. It is never easy and it’s a learned practice and discipline to be mastered. I am grateful to have found insight timer and had no idea about the app or the array of options available for free and the Plus courses for which I am currently working on where to begin because there are so many different options available and such excellent content for anyone going through any kind of situation or at any point of their journey. Love this app, been following for years. Once I’m able to afford paid version I would DEFINITELY pay for it. Has helped me through many tough times. Living with ADHD, PTSD, etc. it has something for any episode that flares up! Also has a community, daily live sessions, courses….just so extensive that I haven’t even discovered all it has to offer through all these years. Give it a try & you’ll be hooked too!🫶☮️

I really rate this app! It has been so helpful in managing my ADHD symptoms and general mental wellbeing. As a busy mum of 2 young children it’s very hard to find the time and money to take care of my mental health but this app makes it so accessible and easy! I love the short guided meditations for parents and the soundscapes are so good for helping to fall back asleep at night after the inevitable wakings.

In the past I have never been able to meditate because my mind will not stop between anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I decided to try this app and do the guided meditations and it has been a game changer. I used the free version for two weeks and decided to start the paid version since I have been so happy. There are so many different meditations to choose from! There’s also music, sounds of rain, or the forest, or the ocean amongst others. Additionally, there courses that are available for manifestation, aging gracefully, and general improvement. I am noticing a difference in my mind and my blood pressure is actually lowering (I am not a doctor and I can only speak for myself.) I recommend this to everyone.

I was told about Insight Timer by my therapist. He had been nudging me lightly to try meditating for over a year. When the anxiety, depression and sleeplessness became too much I finally gave it a shot. Not to meditate at first but to help me fall asleep. And boy did it. The sleep meditations always knock me out within minutes. After realizing how powerful that was I tried morning mini meditations. I'm only 2 months in and still struggle greatly to quiet the mind monkey but I love all the playlists and the choices to choose by length of mediation. I haven't tried unguided meditation yet but will get there someday. Thank you IT for coming into my life. I would highly recommend it and I do to any of my friends that will listen.
