Meaningful connection.
Setting this time aside for me.
Allowing myself to absorb the insights of today.
These insights that may just influence me upon my way.
Let's go to the wisdom of the waves for our daily dose of gentle inspiration.
Everyone has periods of feeling disconnected.
It's part of why we are here.
Disconnecting so we can reconnect.
This is the reality of life.
And so it is.
Everyone needs connection.
There is someone that you care about.
Someone you like to spend quality time with.
Recall a time,
Recent or distant,
When you were together.
Doing something that you were enjoying.
Look out from behind your own eyes.
Onto the scene.
Notice where you are.
What you can see.
What you can hear.
What you can touch.
Within this memory,
Notice the other person.
What do they look like?
What are they saying or doing?
The tone of voice.
The expression on the face.
What qualities are this person showing in this memory?
Can you sense them?
What does this remind you about the qualities that are important to you?
Allow yourself to look at this memory as if your consciousness is outside of your body,
Or if you prefer,
As if you're watching your memory like a movie on a cinema screen.
Now shift your attention and within this memory,
Focus upon yourself.
What are you saying and doing?
How are you interacting with the other person?
How are you treating them?
Many people are caught up in the busy world of doing,
So much so that they are missing out on moments of meaningful connection.
They're doing the best they can,
Given their level of consciousness,
Given their level of understanding of the world in these moments.
May these insights reach them when the moment is right for them.
May they experience moments of meaningful connection and to come to know this is something to be grateful for.
I am grateful for this special moment that I have made for myself to absorb the wisdom from the waves.
Everyone needs connection.
I choose to be open and receptive with somebody in my day.
I will allow the person in front of me to come into focus as a unique individual with specific qualities,
However they may show up,
However they hold their energy.
I choose to notice the way the mind automatically makes judgments and evaluations,
But in the very moment of me noticing this is the space where meaningful connection arises from within me.
I am not my thoughts unless I choose them.
I choose a little gesture of meaningful connection to bring to this world,
This world that is providing me with my day,
As I start my day.
