We come to this work carrying grief in many forms. Some of us are grieving the loss of someone we love. Others are holding quieter, less visible losses—changes in identity, relationships, or the life we once imagined. The Waves of Grief Retreat is a space where all of this belongs. Here, we tend to what aches within us, gently and at our own pace, while remembering that we are not alone. We practice staying present, connected and open-hearted, allowing our grief and love for life to exist side by side. Grief is raw, messy and unpredictable. It may feel uncomfortable, or even counterintuitive, but allowing it to rise, like riding a wave, catching our breath and staying mindful between sets helps us find our footing again in the vastness of loss. At the Waves of Grief Retreat we’ll embrace the waves, both literally and figuratively — holding space for one another and cheering each other on. Our intention is to support you in listening inward, trusting your intuition and building resilience. You’re invited to step into new ways of being with what is — learning to live with grief, pain or regret, while rediscovering gratitude, hope and joy.

Casa MarBella is a boutique hotel situated on a mountain slope in Santa Teresa. The property provides a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and is a five-minute walk to the beach, restaurants, and stores. Being surrounded by rainforest, it offers a unique opportunity to watch wildlife in their natural habitat. The area is renowned for its consistent surf breaks, some of which are within walking distance from the property. The Casa consists of eight units with four different typologies of rooms for your different needs and group sizes. It is an ideal venue for those seeking the privacy, services, and comforts of individual hotel rooms, yet the intimacy of a private villa. The décor of the rooms is a minimalist approach with a tropical touch. The amenities of the hotel include a free parking area, Wi-Fi in the common areas, an infinity pool, an ocean view yoga deck, a sun terrace, and a reception. All of the rooms have an ocean view and air conditioning. Services we provide include housekeeping, massage, babysitting, and concierge, where we can schedule an array of activities for no extra charge.

A private boutique hotel reserved exclusively for the Waves of Grief Retreat offers an intimate and unforgettable experience with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Perched on a hillside amidst the jungle and above the hustle and bustle of town, a short walk to restaurants and the beach. The hotel is essentially one grand villa with fourteen private and shared rooms, most with ocean views, surrounding an infinity pool. There’s also a beautiful ocean-view yoga deck.

The remaining balance for the retreat is due 30 days prior to the start date. If this balance is paid earlier than these 30 days, you are eligible to cancel and receive a full refund of this remaining balance, provided you do so at least 30 days before the retreat begins.
