Details

Summer is the perfect time for low-key restful yoga practices and creativity. The Restorative Yoga sessions and oracle card making are a natural combination to access your inner wisdom in a fun and easy-going way. In guided oracle card making and coaching session, you'll use guided reflection and visualization to accompany a fun and unique approach to card making. In Restorative Yoga sessions, you'll rest deeply and have time and space to contemplate the images and messages you uncovered in the cards you made. There is plenty of time for less structured activities too, such as enjoying a walk in forest or along the nearby river, lounging in a hammock, reading, knitting, or socializing with kind and welcoming folks. All activities on this retreat are suitable for students of all levels and abilities. No yoga or meditation experience is necessary. No arts/crafts skills are required.

Location

Maryland, MD, United States

Knoxville, Maryland, zip code 21758, is a scenic and historic unincorporated community primarily nestled in the rolling foothills of southern Frederick County, stretching slightly into Washington County. Situated along the north bank of the Potomac River at the base of South Mountain, this rural enclave offers a peaceful, small-town atmosphere defined by historic farmhouses, open woodlands, and quiet residential areas. Originally settled in the late 18th century, Knoxville flourished in the 1840s as a vital transportation hub fueled by the expansion of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. Today, while much of its commercial industry has shifted to the neighboring city of Brunswick, Knoxville remains an attractive retreat for commuters and history enthusiasts alike, prized for its proximity to outdoor recreation, the historic water gap at Harpers Ferry, and major commuter routes like U.S. Route 340.

Testimonials

info

It is not possible to over exaggerate how great Tara’s retreats are! Whether you are going on a retreat just for some self care and space to yourself or if you are looking to connect with people and have adventures while getting deeper into your yoga practice, her retreats really offer it all. Every time I came home refreshed and with a sense of excitement and renewal for my daily life.

Tara’s retreats offer a place to land where I’m held in her care with a little structure and also some free time and permission to follow my personal desires. When I am outside my day-to-day location and tasks, I’m amazed by the connections that I’m able to make with my own body, mind, and heart while guided by inspirational and intentional daily yogas practices. The connection with myself is just the beginning, the people I meet on these retreats become lifelong friends!

My experience with Tara was unexpectedly extraordinary. I booked the yoga retreat without knowing Tara or her yoga practice. I was merely aiming for a relaxing, safe getaway in a beautiful place. Much to my surprise, I met Tara and felt an immediate connection. She was warm, welcoming and supportive of me given the circumstances of being new to her ‘studio’. What I took away from the retreat was more than being refreshed and reenergized - but a part of a new community of incredible people, all tied to Tara. I can’t think of a more generous and inclusive yoga teacher.

What I love most about Tara’s classes and retreats are the people. Tara makes yoga so accessible that anyone is able to participate. Have injuries? No problem. Haven’t workout in years? No problem. Balancing on one leg isn’t your jam? You are welcome too. Tara is such an amazing teacher! She’s methodical in sequencing, builds on each pose, offers variations throughout. She encourages everyone to try their best, she gives agency for students to do whatever they need for their bodies, she’s genuine in her interactions, and even when she challenges you to try hard things, she makes it fun. There were many poses I didn’t realize I could do until she challenged me to do them.
