Details

Welcome to our Pause and Connect: A Wellbeing Weekend Retreat. Join me for a weekend of slowness, stillness, and Nature Connection. This is a beautiful area of coastline, with large blue skies and quietness. We are back at Sandsend for 2026 for two days of reflection and restoration. This year, we will be offering longer periods of silence to invoke inner reflection, creativity, and flow. We will guide you through some meditations, embodiment, and beach grounding, as well as offer specific writing prompts for further enquiry. There will be an initial meet-up on Friday for those of you who may be in the area by then. It will be at 6 p.m. to introduce the weekend and provide you with a short meditation to help you step out of what is your "normal life" and into this wonderful weekend of self-nourishment and slowness. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, you will be invited to meet on the beach around 07:30 for 45 minutes to enjoy quiet time together, either sitting or wandering on the beach to start the day. (This is optional and before breakfast.) We will meet at 10:15, and each day will end around 15:00. On Saturday evenings, you are welcome to join us for an evening meal and, if the evening presents itself, to sit on the beach to take in the skyscape of darkness and stars. Each day, we hope to offer a blend of your own time and group time to integrate your stillness within. Also on Saturday, we will be going for an exploration within the Mulgrave Estate woodlands and finding the old Mulgrave Castle ruins within the safety of the trees. We will approx 2-3 miles, and this will be at a slo,w mindful pace with lots of stopping along the way. There are many benefits of being silent on a regular basis and for full days, including relieving stress, lowering blood pressure, and gaining more clarity. Add this to the benefits of being by water, the negative ions, the soundscape, and earthing, and this magnifies on a greater level, connecting with ourselves and our natural world more deeply. + Relieving stress + Lowering Blood Pressure + Gaining more Clarity + Connecting with ourselves and our natural world more deeply The retreat starts at 10:15 on Saturday. Saturday and Sunday are days of slow relaxation, connecting with our Natural world and our true selves. This retreat does not offer accommodation; however, I will be staying at the Mulgrave Country Cottage and can highly recommend this. There are just two single rooms left in this property - please get in touch for further details.

Schedule

This weekend offers you a safe place to pause and connect with your community and inner self. Drawing on the power of water, nature, mother earth, silence and stillness and connection — each of these offer benefits that include reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, slower and deeper breathing, clarity and focus - together this magnifies and enables a real benefit of deeper connection with ourselves, others and our natural world. The entire weekend will offer a slower pace, a flow and guidance, and a weave of conversations with silent periods. The focus is for you to have time and space to restore and nourish.

Testimonials

info

"A week ago a fabulous few days at one of my very favourite places on the planet ( Sandsend near Whitby) Walking Barefoot on the beach there is just bliss. The weather was absolutely perfect for the retreat organised by Maria of Mindful Conenctions. Lots of meditation opportunities, early morning beach walks, garden grounding by the brook, a visit to Whitby Abbey, evening meditation, fabulous meals and lots of laughs. The accommodation was beautifully picturesque. Great to spend time with ladies on my wavelength. All in all a welcome time out for us from our busy daily lives." ( Sandsend 2024)

"Happy Bank full to overflowing after a beautiful retreat by the sea, focussing on Mindfulness, wellbeing and connection with Nature. Thanks to Maria for facilitating it and for all the amazing women who took part and shared their energy. What a joy it has been! Even the early morning starts! 5 am onwards the dawn chorus, layer upon layer of birdsong - Exhilirarating. 7:30 am pondering on the beach - a perfect infusion of meditation and beach combing. Then paddling and connecting with the sea and getting soaked by over enthusiastic waves. Always take spare socks! Sharing treasures, sharing stories and sharing Laughter. Grounding in the present, honouring the past and contemplating the future. And collecting rocks... lots of rocks! " Sandsend 2024

"Last weekend, I spent three fab days with 7 wonderful, kind, funny, interesting friends - my tribe! In a great location of Sandsend. Slowing down, enjoying and exploring Nature, quiet time on the beach, listening to the hypnotic ocean and appreciating time away form the business of life. Very much needed and so much gratitude " Sandsend 2024
