**Kana Lowen™ – A Cornish Sing Therapy™ Retreat** *with Heather Maîr Thomas FTCL* “Kana Lowen” means *happy singing* in the Cornish language. Join award-winning holistic voice coach Heather Maîr Thomas for a warm, relaxed day of singing, breath work and vocal wellbeing in the heart of Mousehole, the Cornish fishing village in the area where Heather was raised. This gentle Sing Therapy™ retreat is open to adults of all stages: nervous beginners, “I can’t sing” people, confident voices and the quietly curious alike. You do not need musical experience and nobody will be put on the spot. Through relaxation, calming breath work, easy vocal exercises and playful group singing, we’ll explore the voice in a way that feels supportive, freeing, and enjoyable. Expect laughter, connection and a refreshing break from the pressures of everyday life. The workshop runs from **10am–4pm** and includes refreshment and lunch breaks. The venue sits in the centre of this beautiful harbour village, just moments from the sea, cafes, galleries, and winding lanes of Mousehole. Built in memory of the Penlee lifeboat crew who lost their lives in the 1981 rescue disaster, it remains a deeply loved local landmark and a place of warmth, community, and remembrance. Whether you long to sing more freely, reconnect with your confidence, or simply spend a nourishing day by the sea, you’ll be very welcome.

Location

Mousehole, United Kingdom

Mousehole is a picturesque fishing village on the coast of Cornwall near Penzance, known for its narrow stone lanes, historic harbor, and sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. With its whitewashed cottages, rugged coastline, and strong connection to the sea, the village carries a peaceful and timeless atmosphere that feels removed from the pace of modern life. Surrounded by coastal walks, hidden coves, and dramatic Cornish landscapes, Mousehole offers a deeply calming setting well-suited for reflection, creativity, and restorative retreat experiences.

The Solomon Browne Hall is a community venue based in a converted fishing net loft. We run a programme of events, which includes weekly craft and farmers’ markets, a playgroup, a range of exercise classes, and regular fundraising coffee mornings. We also host exhibitions, talks, theatre productions, comedy nights, and film nights. Our well-equipped Hall is available for hire for private or public events. Our facilities include a kitchen, wifi, audiovisual equipment, children’s play equipment, disabled access, and air conditioning. Profits from hall hire and our events programme are used to support our community projects in Mousehole. Our community projects all aim to reduce isolation and increase well-being in our coastal community. Recent projects include a community garden with Mousehole School, free IT support workshops, a subsidised summer school for local children, and support for older people who live alone in the village, such as our festive meal and get-togethers throughout the year.

Sathnam Sanghera (BBC Radio 4), England

Heather - Thank you so much for such a fun afternoon yesterday, it was such a unique opportunity for us and it was amazing to get to hear everyone's hidden talents in the group, some of which were known and some a complete surprise to all. Once again it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and please thank your team for their help and support during the day.

Mark White (Corporate workshop - London), England

Heather is a brilliant teacher and coach. Voice Club is fun and safe and that, in itself is freeing. I didn't think I could sing when I joined, and now I know I can. Indeed, I've even sung solo on stage. It can't recommend Heather highly enough. She is amazing, and kind, and has a beautiful voice herself.
