I have to give a shout out to two establishments for their amazing contribution to a beautiful weekend. Workout with Tara (Tara Linney) held an amazing yoga retreat this weekend at Snug Hollow Farm Bed and Breakfast ! Her knowledge shared and her techniques taught were so needed by the group of souls that were there. I truly feel blessed to have been a participant. The bed and breakfast was AMAZING! the food- TOP NOTCH-all made from scratch and mostly locally sourced! So good...and so filling, I couldn't finish a plate (but I was happy to be able to donate my scraps to Casper (dog). The energy of that Appalachian Hollar is amazing! Even though we had some heavy weather, lost electricity for half the stay, and a few personal issues (non-venueue related) Ryan and Will (our hosts) performed like angels. Divineness surrounded the whole weekend and I am grateful for every minute. If you want a recharge escape- the above mentioned BNB needs to be at the top of your list! It doesn't disappoint! Tara, well, she's a hidden gem I just found! Actually, a gem that's resurfaced. Tara is an amazing yoga instructor, specializes in personal training and also works with ptsd/grief clients.

I have been hearing about Snug Hollow B&B for YEARS! Friends are amazed I've never been. Well FINALLY, I can say I've been and had a wonderful experience! Tara Dawn hosted an Inner Peace Immersion yoga workshop over the weekend. There were 8 of us, including one brave guy. One participant came all the way from MI after taking a class from Tara on the Insight meditation/yoga app. I felt right at home dining on the screened porch at the main building. Most of us stayed in their new double cabin just a short walk away from the main building/dining room. It had a spacious porch and breezeway where we could immerse ourselves in the sounds of nature, sound baths and nidra yoga in the evenings, and look up the most beautiful stars/dark sky I've experieced in KY in years. Mornings we listened to birds, practiced some yoga flows and watched the sun slowly spread across the surrounding mountains before indulging in a hardy breakfast. After breakfast Sat. I led a nature stroll. We were amazed by the number and variety of butterflies. Sadly they didn't show up well in most of the photos and videos I attempted, but I did get a couple of good photos. I also saw a cute bluetailed skink that had lost his tail. After lunch Sat., most of the group made mandalas, I did some writing and started a 350 piece puzzle which became a group project that we were able to finish before bed. After everyone was in bed, I helped lull people to sleep with my native american flute. It was a lovely weekend all the way around. The accomodations are cozy and interesting mix of rustic elegance. The food was excellent and service was great. How often do you get bread and desserts still warm from the oven? I enjoyed talking to the owners, Ryan and Will, who pay attention to detail and work hard to make your stay special. I made several new friends in the group that live in Frankfort. Tara will be hosting another at Snug Hollow retreat for the spring equinox if anyone wants to get in on the experience. I think most of our group are making plans to return. I am and I hope to get back to Snug Hollow on my own before then.
